A crisp and refreshing tea aroma wafted through the air. Hua Wushuang's ears perked up, and hearing Ah Jiu's words, he tilted the corner of his mouth upward. He handed two cups of tea to the pair in front of him, looking at the young couple, feeling acutely aware of how time passes.
Back then, he too had his moments of youthful recklessness. But later... later those times were gone, and that person who was once so important to him is no longer here either.
Hua Wushuang watched the two as they bantered with exaggerated facial expressions, the corners of his mouth persistently curved up, as if he were observing two juniors playfully bicker. His mind, however, wandered to unknown places.
Wufu noticed the sorrow in his eyes, an inexplicable tightness tugging at his heart, squeezing Ah Jiu's hand under the table.
Ah Jiu noticed it too, pressing his lips together.
The room grew quiet, with only the melancholic atmosphere lingering, stifling and hard to breathe.
