Chapter 1 - Birth

July 31, 1980.

Potter Manor

"Some flowers are not meant to live long, but to leave beauty behind for a brief moment in the world.Lily was one of them…"

Inside Potter Manor, everything was peaceful. Escaping the warmth of the summer air, the family rested indoors. Lily Potter (Liliane Grindelwald), in the final stage of her pregnancy, sat with her husband, James Potter. Both were young, gifted witches and wizards, deeply and endlessly in love with one another.

Lily came from the German pure-blood Grindelwald family — one of the most influential families in the wizarding world. Her grandfather, Gellert Grindelwald, was a renowned and respected figure, known across magical society. He served as the headmaster of Durmstrang Institute.

James Potter, on the other hand, was the son of Charlus and Dorea Potter (née Black). Both the Potter and Black families were among the oldest and most noble pure-blood lineages.

Everything changed in an instant.

"James… it's happening," Lily groaned.

James immediately understood — their child was coming. Panic and urgency took hold of him. Together, the family hurried to St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

Time moved differently for those who waited.

The long, white corridors of St. Mungo's felt suffocated by silence. Only distant footsteps and the faint echoes of whispered spells broke the stillness.

James could not stand still.

He paced back and forth, his hands trembling. The confident, fearless wizard he once was had vanished. Now, he was simply a husband — waiting, fearing, hoping.

Charlus stood quietly against the wall, his face stern, though his eyes betrayed his worry.Dorea clasped her hands tightly, murmuring silent prayers under her breath.

Then, at the far end of the corridor, movement caught their attention.

A tall man with long white hair approached slowly. With his arrival, the very air seemed to shift.

Gellert Grindelwald.

He was impossible not to recognize. Silent, yet overwhelming in presence. His eyes scanned the room briefly before settling on James.

"No news yet?" he asked, his voice calm but heavy.

James shook his head."No… we're just waiting."

Gellert paused for a moment, tilting his head slightly, as if in thought. But in truth, he was listening — to the atmosphere, to the magic… sensing something unseen.

Dorea felt an unexpected comfort in his presence."Lily is strong," she whispered. "She always has been."

Cassiopeia Black, ever composed, added coldly:"She carries Grindelwald blood. She will survive this."

But no one truly believed those words.

Because something had changed.

The door to the delivery room opened.

The healer who had spoken earlier stepped out again — but this time, her expression was different.

Paler. Heavier.

James noticed immediately.

His heart seemed to stop.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice barely audible.

The healer hesitated. Her eyes avoided his, then slowly returned.

"Your child is healthy…" she said softly."A boy."

The words hung in the air.

But nothing followed.

And in that silence… everything was understood.

The hope on James's face collapsed.

"Lily…" he whispered, his voice breaking. "Is Lily alright?"

The healer closed her eyes, taking a slow breath.

"We… couldn't save her."

The world stopped.

No sound. No movement.

As if all magic, all light had been drained from the corridor.

Dorea's knees gave way — Charlus caught her before she fell.Cassiopeia looked away for the first time.

But the quietest of them all… was Gellert.

His gaze had frozen. He said nothing.

But for the first time… something in his eyes had shattered.

He had lost his granddaughter — the last true heir of his blood.

James heard nothing anymore.

He felt only one thing:

Emptiness.

Heavy. Crushing. Suffocating.

He stood before the door, afraid to enter.

But even more afraid not to.

Slowly, he pushed it open.

The room was silent.

Lily lay among white sheets.

Her face was peaceful… as if she were only sleeping.

But James knew.

This was no sleep.

A soft cry broke the silence.

A fragile, trembling sound.

James's gaze shifted.

And he saw him.

A small child. White hair catching the light. One eye emerald green… the other ice blue.

"Heinrich Dietrich Potter…" James whispered."Welcome, my son… welcome. Look, Lily… look at him… isn't he beautiful? Why did you leave us…"

His voice broke into quiet sobs.

James slowly fell to his knees.

With one hand, he held Lily's cooling hand. With the other, he lifted his son.

Tears streamed silently down his face.

"I will protect him…" he whispered."For you."

Outside, the storm had begun.

But inside…

A flower had withered.

And its fragrance would remain forever.
