Martial Artists, or cultivators, have several realm divisions in their battles.
It's not about each individual's cultivation strength, but rather the level of battle serving as the division.
The First Layer, also the simplest low-level cultivator battle, often involves both sides being relatively weak, making it hard to gain an overwhelming advantage. Hence, even if there is a gap between the two sides, it often takes a long time to conclude the battle, especially for those who have just barely 'entered the realm'.
Therefore, in some Lower Realm Planes, rumors often circulate of experts battling for days and nights.
This is not a legend but rather a result of the two sides having little disparity in strength. Even if there are slight flaws, they are insignificant, leading to long battles until both sides are exhausted. In the end, the one still standing is the one who laughs last.
And as cultivators' cultivation improves, these battles often upgrade to another realm.
