The King cast a lingering glance at Wang Ma before slowly opening his mouth to speak, "What's the matter?"
"I know about the enmity between you and the son-in-law, but could you not involve the young lady in this?" Wang Ma looked at the King with a hint of plea.
The King was well aware that the son-in-law Wang Ma referred to was Ye Xunhuan, and the young lady meant Qiu Ruoxi.
The reason Wang Ma pleaded with the King not to get Qiu Ruoxi involved was that she already saw Qiu Ruoxi as her own daughter. Additionally, Qiu Ruoxi had recently been missing often, leading Wang Ma to speculate if she was being used by someone against Ye Xunhuan.
Although Wang Ma didn't know if the King had anything to do with it, she didn't want him to act in such a manner anyway.
The King pondered briefly, then nodded, "Alright, I promise you!"
Hearing the King's promise, Wang Ma breathed a long sigh of relief, "Thank you!"
