Chapter 71 - CHAPTER 68: WITHOUT RESTRAINT

"Memories cause humans to both abandon their humanity and to embrace it..."

It all starts with an incident; the brain records it and plays it again and again in your head, which in turn forces action—and then you face the consequences.

This was the same with Zen Shi, who understood who he was after the visuals displayed in his mind.

Like two meteorites, Zen Sh and Ri Qu headed towards each other in mid-air. Zen Shi's glowing red eyes were focused on Ri Qu. The air brushed against them along with the sand, slightly blurring their vision. The smell of sand tickled their noses, accompanied by the sound of the wind.

Both of them stopped mid-air, like thunder striking. Ri Qu swung his sword. Quickly moving his sword, Zen Shi blocked the strike with both hands, holding the blade straight.

Using that momentum, Zen Shi shifted his weight upward and performed an intense front flip. Holding both hands together like a hammer, he struck Ri Qu's head.

Ri Qu hit the ground like a boulder; behind him landed Zen Shi. He turned back with those red eyes and stared at the Ri Qu lying on the ground.

In an instant, Ri Qu woke up and was on his feet. His eyes were partially blurred, and he could hear a strange noise in his ears.

"Zen Shi!!!!....you son of a whore!!", he roared.

"I thank you for making me myself," muttered Zen Shi.

Grabbing an axe, Ri Qu dashed to slash Zen Shi. Like a flash, Zen Shi appeared right in front of him, grabbing away his axe, and at that moment, a punch from Ri Qu appeared, aiming for Zen Shi's face.

With the handle of his sword, Zen Shi blocked Ri Qu's fist and pressed it forcefully, breaking his fingers.

Ri Qu rotated his wrist and attempted to grab Zen Shi's sword.

Without a second thought, Zen Shi swung the hammer, aiming for RI Qu's throat. Noticing that Ri Qu withdrew, taking a step back. Zen Shi, who already predicted this, threw the hammer precisely during that moment, aiming for Ri Qu's ankle.

Ri Qu barely dodged it; he fell onto the ground. Ri Qu was on his feet again and ran towards Zen Shi, plotting to slash him.

Zen Shi was quiet...his mind was calm as stagnant water in a pond. No disturbance, just pure water reflecting the blue sky.

"FIRST HELL," muttered Zen Shi.

Zen Shi's leg muscles bulged, and like a dragon, he moved at a speed that Ri Qu's eyes couldn't register. Like a wind, beside Ri Qu stood Zen Shi, like a pillar.

SFX: SLASH

Knowing that he was already late...he still swung his fist. In the blue sky flew Ri Qu's right palm. Blood slowly falling from it, with cold, sharp eyes, not even looking at those who stood, Zen Shi.

"Ahhhh!!!", in pain, growled Ri Qu on the ground.

Without any mercy, Zen Shi walked back, wth the sword in his hand, blood dripping from it. Like a coward, Ri Qu crawled on the ground, away from him. His body trembled, and his eyes teared.

"Cowards don't even have the worth of concubines," whispered Zen Shi.

SFX: KLSHHKK

Without mercy, Zen Shi swung the sword and slit open Ri Qu's throat. Blood pooled on the ground; the dead Ri Qu's eyes reflected the burning sun.

A group of soldiers arrived on their horses behind Zen Shi. Their horses neighed heavily and ran away from there.

"Let's make this war flamboyant, my enemies", Zen Shi declared with his eyes staring right at them.

THE EASTERN GATE OF HAN ROYAL CAPITAL (SURROUNDED BY THE FU SHONG FORESTS)

A group of tribes wearing wooden masks stood there closely observing all the actions of the army. One of them draws out a bow; the next moment, all of them draw it out. Their leader stood before them, wearing a strange golden mask of a bear.

"Shukla kruha...fushin sembei, he muttered.

(translation: take you aim..my soldiers)

"Huruha!!", they roared.

One of the soldiers standing near the gate looked towards the forest as he heard a strange noise.

"Na Nin, please tell the top guards to look into that forest," he told his comrade.

That moment rained a group of bodies fell from the sky...they were falling off from the top of the gate.

"Hah?"

The terrified soldiers hid behind the walls, their hearts were beating faster, and their eyes were filled with fear. They just look here and there randomly, to observe where the arrows were coming from.

"Na Nin!! They are shot on the head with arrows!!," shouted the soldiers.

From the front came walking the tribe, their leader holding the bow. Seeing the masked people, the soldiers aimed the arrow at them.

"Rifrikla," the leader ordered.

(translation: kill them)

The arrows drilled into the heads of the soldiers, making holes in their brains. Seeing the dead bodies, the tribes smiled; they were overjoyed to see that.

"Hrifuna Kilongu," the boss smiled and ordered.

(translation: cook their meat)

***************************

A messenger came running to the courtroom and stood near the door.

"May I come in, my Lords?", the messenger stood near the door and asked.

The messenger bowed, holding both his hands before the queen.

"My Queen"

"Raise your head," ordered Hia.

"My Queen, we are facing an attack from the East, he reported.

"From the East, is it the Yuvta tribe?" asked Ri Ken.

"Yes, my excellency," he replied.

"Didn't Fu Shin kill their king in the past?" asked Ku Zan.

"That is true, my lord, Fu Shin in fact killed him, and that is why they are here to kill all the members of the Yu clan, replied Ri Ken.

"Taking advantage of the vulnerabilities, huh?" asked Ri Ken.

"Fu Shin...wasn't this man involved in the Kigiri village incident that involved Oh Shin and Zen Shi?", asked Hia.

"Yes, my queen. This is the same man, the bounty hunter who was responsible for it, replied Ri Ken.

"Those days—the days of spring—would never return," said Ku Zan.

A picture of Oh Shin and Zen Shi appears in Ku Zan's mind. Hands on each other's shoulders, smiling together...
