Upon hearing a new voice in the silence that forms in the square after Vivi's group departs, Bon Clay's mind quickly comes up with a plan that could free him from the prison he finds himself in.
Then, exerting tremendous strength while being careful not to make any noise, Bon Clay begins to move his hand inside the cocoon toward his face.
The force exerted by Bon Clay ends up being so great that the tendons and bones in his arm burst and break due to the colossal effort.
But even so, ignoring the pain, he continues moving his arm until he manages to brush the tips of his fingers against his face, at which point relief washes over his body, and his face transforms into that of King Cobra.
"Who... is there?", feigning weakness, Bon Clay asks in an unsteady manner, his voice sounding exactly like the King's.
As soon as he hears the unmistakable voice of the King, Igaram runs to Bon Clay's cocoon and asks, worried and confused upon seeing Cobra injured and seemingly on the verge of fainting, "Sir? What are you doing here?"
"... W... who?", opening his eyes with great effort, 'Cobra' asks weakly, his vision completely blurred. [Logically, it's all a lie]
"It's me, sir! Igaram!", Igaram says as he quickly examines the cocoon and the King's condition, frowning slightly as he thinks about how little sense this situation makes. Where is Chaka? Or Pell?
"Iga... ram! I...", visibly straining, 'Cobra' begins to try to say something, only to be interrupted halfway through.
"Don't say anything, sir! You're going to be fine, hang in there, I'll get you out of there!", Igaram interrupts him, and despite being a little suspicious, he quickly takes a pocketknife from his pocket and begins to cut and tear the plant cocoon the King is trapped in.
As soon as the cocoon is fully opened and Igaram starts helping him out of his prison, Bon Clay strikes his chin with a punch the instant he finds himself completely free.
With a sudden jolt of his brain inside his skull, Igaram blacks out instantly, falling into the arms of the now-freed Bon Clay.
Then, gently placing him on the ground, Bon Clay exits his transformation and, with a smile, begins freeing and waking his subordinates one by one.
With everyone freed, Bon Clay says, announcing that they were leaving, "Alright, queers! We're getting out of this sinking ship."
"But, sir! And Baroque Works?", one of his subordinates, still disguised as a royal guard, asks doubtfully.
Snorting, Bon Clay says, making it clear that they had already lost, had tried to fulfill their roles and failed, and that now it was over, "My dear, Baroque Works is finished! We've lost completely, and I have no intention of staying here to be arrested."
"... I... I will follow you, Bon Clay sir!", the subordinate who had asked the previous question says after a few seconds of silence, determined to follow Bon Clay to the very end, just like the others, who nod their heads in support of what had just been said.
Nodding in thanks, Bon Clay says before beginning to move out of the city with everyone following him, "Well, let's get going then."
=Scene Break=
Going back a few minutes in time, still in Nanohana, Nami, accompanied by Chopper in his 'Walk Point' form, arrives at the city's main street, looking like two stones in the middle of a chaotic flow of frightened people fleeing in the opposite direction from where they were looking.
On the horizon, a gigantic ship was advancing over the buildings near the port, toppling to the side in slow motion, with the sound of friction and destruction rising above all other noises.
And in the middle of the rushing crowd of fleeing people, further ahead from where the two Straw Hats were, stood a tall, dark-skinned, bald man next to a beautiful woman with dark blue curly afro hair.
The two seemed not the least bit shaken by all the chaos happening around them, and this catches Nami's attention, quickly identifying them as the owners of the presences she had sensed earlier.
"Chopper, it's them! Stay sharp, if they try anything, I'll fight the man, and you take the woman", Nami warns before starting to walk toward the two strangers, with Chopper entering his 'Heavy Point' form and following her shortly after. Meanwhile, the street around them becomes completely silent and empty after the massive crash of the ship toppling onto the buildings in the background subsides.
"Alright!", Chopper replies with a serious gaze fixed on the two strangers in front of him.
"Hey, are you two from Baroque Works?", Nami raises her voice, drawing the two's attention.
"And who's asking?", with one hand on her hip, Miss Doublefinger fires back with a question of her own.
"Nami", Nami replies dryly, the brief exchange already giving her everything she needed to know whether they were part of Baroque Works or not. After all, why would they dodge the question if they weren't part of the organization?
"Alright, and why do you think we're part of this so-called Baroque Works?", Miss Doublefinger asks, basically just for the sake of asking, because, in the end, they knew that these two in front of them were enemies too.
"Alright, enough of this bullshit! Let's finish this quickly. Are you with Crocodile or not?", Nami puts an end to all this stalling and asks decisively, at the same time extending her Clima Tact and preparing for the fight.
Seeing no point in staying in this back-and-forth when everyone there already knew who was on which side, Mr. 1 says directly before charging at the two enemies in front of him, "We're with Crocodile, now let's fight!"
"Chopper, you already know what to do!", Nami tells Chopper before coating her Clima Tact with Haki and calmly walking toward Mr. 1.
Transforming the palm and fingers of his right hand into blades, Mr. 1, Daz Bonez, attacks Nami with a descending diagonal strike as soon as he gets close enough.
Then, in a matter of seconds, Nami moves her Clima Tact upward with force and strikes the agent's hand, who seemed to be in slow motion, with the tip of her staff.
And as Daz Bonez's arm is thrown upward by a tremendous force, Nami breaks through the agent's guard, looking like a blur of speed, and delivers a horizontal attack in a wide sweeping motion using the opposite side of her Clima Tact from the one used in the previous strike.
Hitting him squarely, Daz Bonez is sent flying backward like a cannonball, passing by Miss Doublefinger and stopping only after bouncing a few times on the ground.
Looking surprised at the cloud of dust her partner had raised as his movement finally ceased, Miss Doublefinger, Zala, turns her gaze back to the two enemies, only to realize that the girl had disappeared.
"Excuse me! But your opponent is me!", seeing that Miss Doublefinger was looking all around in search of Nami, Chopper politely draws her attention before charging at her at full speed.
"Hmm? You're going to fight me, raccoon man?", smiling playfully, Miss Doublefinger begins walking toward Chopper, her hips swaying from side to side with every step she takes.
Getting close enough, Chopper shouts as he abruptly stops running, "I'm a reindeer!"
And as he skids across the ground due to the momentum of his run, Chopper spins his hips forcefully and unleashes a powerful punch toward the woman in front of him, who seemed to be mirroring his movement.
However, just before meeting Chopper's punch with her own attack, Miss Doublefinger transforms her hand into a gigantic and deadly single spike.
What never crossed her mind, however, was that, in that fraction of a second while her hand began to transform into a spike, Chopper could change the trajectory of his fist.
And that is exactly what happens. By a very small margin, he manages to dodge Miss Doublefinger's attack while at the same time landing a clean, crushing blow to her torso. And all of this thanks to his recently awakened Observation Haki.
With the air in her lungs being completely expelled, Miss Doublefinger has her body violently thrown backward.
Falling on her back to the ground and rolling a bit over the tiled asphalt, her movement finally ceases, and just a few moments later, she slowly gets up.
From this point on, the fight becomes a blur of events lasting at most a few minutes. What I mean is that, despite all her efforts, Miss Doublefinger found herself under pressure from the beginning to the end of the fight.
The truth that may be hard to swallow is that, without Observation, there was no chance for her to cause real damage to Chopper.
And aside from the few mistakes he made, which ended up earning him some cuts and scratches, Chopper was superior to her in everything: speed, strength, intelligence, all of that, and he still had Haki; basically, she had already lost from the start.
Then, with a well-placed punch while dodging an arm transformed into a spiked mace, Chopper puts her to sleep.
As soon as Miss Doublefinger's body collapses to the ground and things calm down, Chopper returns to his hybrid 'Brain Point' form and begins treating the fallen agent while briefly looking toward the place where Nami had taken her fight.
=Scene Break=
A few minutes earlier, as Nami disappears from Miss Doublefinger's sight, Mr. 1 can barely get up, drooling and out of breath, before already flying again, his face red from oxygen deprivation.
Meanwhile, Nami, having just hit him with another wide-arc strike from her Clima Tact, follows him without using Soru.
And so it continues for a few more blows, with Nami not giving Mr. 1 a single moment to breathe. The poor guy was already completely purple from lack of air and on the verge of passing out.
His face was already all bruised, his nose was broken, there was blood everywhere, some teeth had simply vanished from his mouth, and all of this was caused by Nami's last strike, which was aimed at his face.
Now, the outcome of this fight should have already been clear to everyone; one more hit and Mr. 1 would probably pass out for good. What was not clear, however, was that by some miracle, Daz Bonez, even no longer able to form a coherent thought, would manage to dodge at the last second an attack aimed at his face.
Raising an eyebrow, Nami attacks him again in a wide arc, directing the strike at his head.
And once again, Mr. 1 leans his body backward and narrowly avoids the tip of Nami's Clima Tact by a hair's breadth.
Nami then stops, and as she watches Mr. 1 recover and slowly get up from the ground, she comments, "Observation Haki! A bit unexpected, I have to admit!"
"… W… w… what?", getting up from the ground like a drunk with his vision completely blurred, Mr. 1 babbles, not understanding a damn thing Nami said.
I mean, he knew she said something; the problem was that his ears were ringing so much that everything she said seemed muffled.
"Never mind, we're done here", Nami says before quickly electrocuting him with the tip of her Clima Tact.
And then, a few seconds later, Mr. 1 collapses to the ground completely unconscious, his body giving off smoke and a faint burnt smell.
Nami then retracts her Clima Tact and puts it away, briefly looking around to see exactly where they were.
They were basically at the beginning of the same street where the fight had started, relatively close to the port and practically underneath the gigantic ship that had toppled over onto the buildings near the city's port area.
Seeing all this destruction, Nami first checks how Chopper is doing with her Observation, and upon confirming that everything is fine, she begins helping in the search for people who had been buried by the toppled ship.
A few minutes later, Chopper arrives and begins helping as well, providing medical care to those in need and, like Nami, assisting in the searches with his Observation.
Not long after, the rest of the group arrives. But by this point, the searches had already been completed; there was no one left buried, regardless of whether they were alive or dead. And all of this was thanks to Nami and Chopper, who greatly sped up the search and rescue process; it would have taken much longer without their help.
Then, after a brief conversation, Usopp begins walking toward Mr. 1 to capture him before they can leave, only to be interrupted by a familiar male voice: "That one will remain in our custody, along with his partner!"
"Smoker!", most of the group exclaims upon recognizing the figure standing next to the gigantic ship, his body being relatively less bandaged than before.
