Yang Qiu ran out of the dining room and went straight back to her room.
With a loud bang, Yang Qiu closed the door.
Standing in the middle of the room, she covered her chest with one hand and placed the other on her flaming red face, feeling extremely shy.
She recalled the previous man, who only knew how to take and bully her, never saying a kind word to her.
There's a saying that goes well, "Without contrast, there's no harm."
Now, this man named Wang Kui helped her when she was helpless in Lin County, escorted her all the way home, and defended her when rumors spread about her.
Now, because of those rumors, he's talking to her parents about marrying her.
Although there may not be any affection involved, she was still very moved because he came across as a man with responsibility.
Her brother and parents probably saw his goodness too, which is why they orchestrated today's dinner.
