Yang Qiu took Wang Kui out and led him into the guest room.
Lighting the candle on the table, Yang Qiu said, "Wait here for a moment, I'll go get a bowl of water to wipe down your room."
"No need." Wang Kui declined, not wanting to trouble Yang Qiu.
But Yang Qiu went out anyway.
Watching Yang Qiu's back, Wang Kui felt like today's events were a dream.
He had already given up, never expecting Yang Qiu would seek him out, saying she wanted to marry him.
He thought, perhaps his family's ancestral tomb must have emitted blue smoke.
In half a month, he would be marrying Yang Qiu.
Thinking about marrying Yang Qiu, he felt a warm happiness, but there was a slight bitterness because he couldn't give Yang Qiu a good betrothal gift.
The door creaked open, and Yang Qiu came in carrying a basin of water.
Putting the cloth into the basin, Yang Qiu extended her hand to scrub the cloth to help Wang Kui tidy up the room.
