Chu Lin slept lightly; he woke up at the very first ring of the alarm. The clock happened to be on his side, so he reached out to turn it off, wanting to let Lin Jingsheng sleep a bit longer. Lin Jingsheng had gone to bed late last night, and perhaps because he was nestled in Chu Lin's warm arms, his internal clock wasn't as precise. The Prince and the Princess Consort generally didn't come to bother him; they even hoped he could sleep more and wouldn't disturb him. Lin Jingsheng was deeply asleep, muddle‑headed, his sleep very heavy. He had a bit of low blood pressure to begin with, so getting up was slightly difficult. Waking up in a warm embrace, his thoughts moved slowly, with a faint heaviness. Only belatedly did he realize he was lying in Chu Lin's arms, their skins pressed so closely together that there was an indescribable intimacy.
As soon as he opened his eyes, he collided with Chu Lin's gaze.
