The next morning, Long Linger woke up very early. The sky was slightly bright as she got dressed and walked out, passing through the hall to a small side bedroom. This bedroom was shared by Aphrodite and Meibao. At this time, the door was still closed, and she gently knocked on the door. Meibao came to open the door in her pajamas, "Madam, good morning!"
Through the crack in the door, Long Linger could see Aphrodite's bed was empty, the quilt neatly folded, looking as if it hadn't been used.
"Meibao, where is Aphrodite?"
"Oh, she went out last night, said she had something to do but I don't know exactly where she went."
"Alright!"
Long Linger silently withdrew, having waited all night for news of Aphrodite, unsure if she had succeeded.
"Madam, good morning!"
