Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Infinite Luck

The heavens split apart.

A brilliant golden meteor descended with unimaginable speed, illuminating the entire Azure Beast Forest.

Mordecai looked up in shock.

"What is that?!"

Even the Crimson Sky Serpent let out an uneasy hiss.

The System calmly spoke.

Infinite Luck Activated.

Probability of miraculous event: 0% → 100%

Kai stared at the golden streak.

"So... this is Infinite Luck?"

The meteor crashed into the forest several hundred meters away.

BOOOOOOM!

The impact shook the entire mountain range.

A blinding shockwave spread in every direction.

The Crimson Sky Serpent was forced backward several meters.

Mordecai frowned.

"What kind of attack is this?"

As the dust settled...

A magnificent golden dragon slowly rose from the crater.

Its scales shone like molten gold.

Its body stretched over a hundred meters, while a pair of enormous wings covered the sky.

Every beast within a hundred kilometers instinctively knelt.

The dragon's eyes slowly opened.

They immediately landed on Kai.

Then...

To everyone's disbelief...

The dragon bowed its head.

"Greetings..."

"...Young Master."

Kai blinked.

"Young... Master?"

Nova tilted her head.

"Master?"

"Do you know him?"

Kai quickly shook his head.

"No."

"I've never seen him before."

The System displayed another notification.

Name: Aurelius

Title: Guardian Dragon of the Eastern Sky

Rank: Divine

Current Relationship: Friendly

Reason: Infinite Luck

Kai smiled helplessly.

"So Infinite Luck literally summoned a Divine Dragon."

Mordecai's expression became extremely ugly.

"A Divine Dragon..."

"What is one doing in this insignificant kingdom?"

Aurelius ignored him completely.

He lowered his head toward Kai.

"I sensed the aura of the Beast Sovereign."

"I came immediately."

Kai bowed respectfully.

"Thank you for your help."

The dragon smiled warmly.

"There is no need."

"It is my honor."

Mordecai clenched his fists.

"This mission has become troublesome."

The Crimson Sky Serpent roared and charged toward Aurelius.

The golden dragon simply glanced at it.

A terrifying pressure descended.

The Saint Beast froze in place.

It couldn't move.

Its body trembled uncontrollably.

The gap between Saint Rank and Divine Rank was simply too great.

Aurelius spoke calmly.

"You dare attack the Young Master?"

His voice echoed like thunder.

The Crimson Sky Serpent immediately lowered its head in fear.

It didn't even dare breathe loudly.

Mordecai shouted angrily,

"Fight!"

But his contracted beast refused.

The instinct engraved within its bloodline prevented it from attacking a superior dragon.

Aurelius slowly raised one claw.

"Leave."

"I shall spare your lives."

Mordecai's face twisted with hatred.

"You think the Shadow Cult fears you?"

He suddenly crushed a crimson crystal hidden within his sleeve.

The surrounding space distorted.

A giant blood-red portal opened behind him.

Several sinister auras emerged from within.

The System issued another warning.

Warning!

Three Saint-Class Beast Tamers detected.

Kai frowned.

"They called reinforcements already?"

Aurelius looked at the portal before sighing.

"How annoying."

Before the newcomers could fully emerge—

A loud laugh echoed across the sky.

"Hahaha!"

"So the Shadow Cult has become this shameless?"

Everyone turned.

An enormous silver eagle descended from the clouds.

Standing upon its back was an elderly man carrying a bamboo fishing rod.

His white beard reached his waist.

Despite his ordinary appearance...

His presence rivaled Aurelius.

The old man looked at Kai and smiled.

"So..."

"You're the boy everyone has been searching for."

Kai politely bowed.

"Senior."

The old man waved dismissively.

"No need for formalities."

"I hate formalities."

He pointed his fishing rod at Mordecai.

"As for you..."

"I've wanted to beat you up for years."

Mordecai's pupils contracted.

"Old Ghost River!"

The old man laughed.

"Looks like you still remember me."

Without warning...

He casually flicked his fishing rod.

A tiny stream of water shot toward Mordecai.

The Shadow Cult Elder hurriedly summoned several defensive barriers.

They shattered instantly.

BOOM!

Mordecai was sent crashing through dozens of trees before disappearing into the distance.

The three Saint Beast Tamers emerging from the portal immediately retreated.

"Retreat!"

"The old monster is here!"

Within seconds...

The Shadow Cult completely disappeared.

Silence returned to the forest.

The old man yawned.

"They always run too quickly."

Aurelius chuckled.

"You've gotten stronger."

The old man shrugged.

"A little."

Then he turned toward Kai.

"You."

Kai straightened.

"Yes, Senior?"

The old man looked at Nova.

His eyes widened slightly.

"A Primordial Nine-Tailed Origin Fox..."

"So the prophecy was true."

Kai frowned.

"What prophecy?"

The old man's smile disappeared.

He looked toward the distant horizon.

"Thousands of years ago..."

"The First Beast Sovereign left behind one final prediction."

"When darkness rises once more..."

"The All Encompassing System shall awaken."

"The Beast of Origin shall be reborn."

"And the final Sovereign..."

"...will change the fate of every world."

Kai's heart skipped a beat.

"The final Sovereign..."

The old man nodded.

"That person..."

"...is you."

Before Kai could ask another question—

The System suddenly interrupted.

Main Quest Updated

Become the Final Beast Sovereign.

Progress:

5%

Kai looked at the quest silently.

"So..."

"This was my destiny all along."

The old man laughed.

"Destiny?"

"No."

"You still have a choice."

"You may accept this path..."

"...or abandon it."

Kai thought about everything that had happened.

His first life.

His family.

The gods.

Nova.

Asterion's sacrifice.

He smiled.

"I've already made my choice."

"I'll keep moving forward."

Nova jumped onto his shoulder.

"And I'll always be with Master!"

Aurelius laughed loudly.

"Excellent!"

The old man nodded with satisfaction.

"Good answer."

He reached into his sleeve and tossed Kai a small jade token.

"This will let you find me when you're strong enough."

Kai caught it.

"What is this?"

"My disciple token."

"If anyone asks..."

"Tell them you're an unofficial disciple of the Fishing Immortal."

Kai blinked.

"...Fishing Immortal?"

The old man grinned proudly.

"It's a magnificent title, isn't it?"

Before Kai could answer, both the old man and Aurelius vanished into the sky.

The forest became quiet once more.

The System suddenly spoke.

Kai smiled.

"This journey..."

"...is only just beginning."

Far away, inside the headquarters of the Shadow Cult...

Mordecai knelt before a throne hidden in darkness.

A pair of blood-red eyes slowly opened.

"So..."

"The heir survived."

Mordecai lowered his head.

"Please forgive me, Sect Master."

The mysterious figure chuckled.

"It doesn't matter."

"The game has finally begun."

"Notify every branch."

"From today onward..."

"The All Encompassing System must be destroyed."

A sinister laugh echoed throughout the underground palace.
