Chapter 606 - Chapter 606: Mythical Zoan

"I... I don't know what she wants. Ever since we were sent into the organization's training program, we haven't had any contact."

Kalifa answered truthfully. Carl's memory only contained those few scenes of Alpha acting as a nurse supervising Bonney. He knew nothing about the deeper relationship between the two sisters.

After hearing her answer, Carl nodded slightly and said,

"Sounds like your father was pretty heartless—sending his own children into a spy organization just like that. Have you two kept in touch at all over the years?"

Kalifa shook her head.

"It's been a long time. The last time was after you helped me reclaim my identity. He did reach out to me then... but I had already gone to look after Lady Makino. I didn't respond to avoid any unnecessary trouble."

Her tone turned colder when she spoke of her father—and understandably so. Everything Laskey had done could hardly be called the actions of a real father. Just choosing to stay away after something happened to his daughter was already enough to prove he didn't deserve the title.

Carl gently stroked Kalifa's smooth back.

"You did well. Sending you to Foosha Village was the right decision."

Kalifa blushed slightly.

"Young Master, I wasn't the only one taking care of Lady Makino back then. The stationed Marines were there too..."

Carl chuckled.

"Good, not hogging the credit. I've already asked Borsalino to grant each of those stationed Marines an extra three years' salary. But you're different from them. You were the one personally taking care of Makino during that time. She often mentions how kind you are."

"Lady Makino is very kind and easy to get along with. Honestly, it was the most relaxing mission I've ever had."

"Haha, naturally. If she wasn't a good person, I wouldn't have allowed her into the Figarland family."

At this point, Carl suddenly found himself feeling a bit awkward.

Why did that last sentence sound like something a cliché villainous mother-in-law would say in a melodrama?

Kalifa closed her eyes, resting comfortably against Carl's chest, her voice soft.

"That's why I feel so lucky. Sometimes, I still think this is all just a dream."

After that heart-to-heart, Kalifa's tone and demeanor became more relaxed and natural. Carl chuckled.

"A dream? What kind of dream lasts through all the tossing around we just did without waking up?"

Kalifa's face turned red. She whispered,

"Young Master... I've actually had dreams like that before..."

"Hmm?"

Carl raised an eyebrow.

"Who was the male lead? Don't tell me it was some faceless stranger."

Kalifa's face was practically glowing red now. She cupped her cheeks and murmured like a mosquito,

"Of course it was you, Young Master... It was the night I first met you..."

Carl couldn't just let that slide. He activated his mind-reading ability—and sure enough, it matched exactly what Kalifa had said.

With a smirk, he pinched her soft lips with two fingers.

"You're more of a quiet pervert than I thought."

After saying it out loud, Kalifa seemed to grow bolder. She raised her head and gently brushed one long leg along Carl's body. Her voice turned coy.

"If Young Master likes... I can drop the 'quiet' part~"

"Hiss... No need. I prefer the contrast."

As he spoke, Carl held her down, noticing how restless she was getting.

"I told you to behave. Are you saying you've already recovered?"

Carl had only meant to tease her, but Kalifa's pent-up passion suddenly erupted. She sat up abruptly, locking eyes with him—her gaze full of seduction.

What followed was another round of intense passion. This time, Kalifa completely let go. Fortunately, Carl still had some self-control. Just before she passed out, he stopped.

Looking at Kalifa, who was nearly rolling her eyes, Carl sighed.

"I told you—don't push yourself in things like this."

Kalifa took quite a while to catch her breath. Her voice was hazy.

"I-I'm sorry, Young Master... I still couldn't satisfy you..."

Carl flicked her lips playfully with a finger.

"You did great. This kind of thing isn't a one-person job—except maybe for Lucia and Lily."

"But... I'm still too weak. From now on, I'm going to train with Lady Lucia and get my body in shape."

"Good. I like that energy. How about this—I'll give you another Zoan-type Devil Fruit?"

"Eh? But Young Master, I already have a Devil Fruit."

"Swapping Fruits is no big deal for me. You know about Doflamingo, right? He originally had the String-String Fruit."

Kalifa's eyes widened. Carl had once again shattered her understanding of what was possible.

He continued,

"Well? Want to change? Let me think... I've got a few Mythical Zoan types on hand: the Phoenix, Yamata no Orochi... Eh, maybe not that last one. It's not suitable for women."

Just imagining Kalifa with eight heads gave Carl chills.

As she listened to him casually list out the names of Mythical Zoan Fruits like they were everywhere, Kalifa felt completely numb.

Among the CP9 agents, Lucci's Leopard Fruit—bestowed by the World Government—was already considered top-tier. Even Kaku's Giraffe Fruit, while a bit goofy in appearance, still provided solid boosts to strength and endurance.

As for Mythical Zoan types... those were things they never even dared to dream about. The World Government certainly had some, but those were reserved for elite Celestial Dragons—the so-called God's Knights.

Getting one would practically mean instant ascension.

But Carl was naming them like candy. The shock was overwhelming.

As he finished, dark vortexes began to swirl in midair, and several uniquely shaped Devil Fruits slowly emerged from them.

While Kalifa gazed up at them in awe, Carl rubbed his chin and muttered to himself,

"Hmm... I should let Makino choose one too. Her body's far too delicate. I doubt she can handle that beast Shanks much longer."

Then, Kalifa suddenly added,

"Young Master... I actually really like the..."
