Chapter 47 - The First Clash

"Down with Dr. Om!

Down with Dr. Om!"

Loud chants echoed outside the clinic.

A crowd had gathered at the gate—

Shouting slogans against him.

Om walked toward the entrance, watching everything calmly.

As soon as the crowd saw him approaching—

The noise grew louder.

Angrier.

All eyes turned toward him.

Filled with hostility.

"What is all this?"

Om asked, his face completely expressionless.

"Why are you all shouting like this?"

"Because I said so."

A voice came from the side.

Om turned.

Leaning casually against the wall—

A man in a suit stood there, smoking.

Beside him stood a short, bulky man holding a phone.

Om looked at him—

Then said calmly,

"Impressive introduction… sir."

The short man immediately stepped forward with pride.

"This is the famous doctor of this city—Mr. Vinod Joseph."

"And the reason for all this?"

Om asked, still unfazed.

"Simple,"

Dr. Joseph said, exhaling smoke into the air.

"A place like this… doesn't need an inexperienced doctor like you."

Om smiled slightly.

"And who decided that?"

"I did,"

Joseph replied loudly.

"And whatever I say… becomes law. Got it, kid?"

Then he glanced at the crowd.

"Why did you stop? Keep shouting!"

The short man signaled—

And the chants resumed even louder.

"Down with Dr. Om!

Down with Dr. Om!"

Om stood still.

Then spoke again—

This time, with a slightly sharper tone.

"Would you mind explaining properly… what all this actually means, Mr. Joseph?"

"It means,"

Joseph said with a smirk,

"This is a developed area. Doctors like you don't belong here."

His eyes narrowed.

"So shut your little clinic… and get lost."

A pause.

"You're not worthy of working here."

Silence.

Then Om replied—

Calm.

Confident.

"And what if I don't leave?"

Before Joseph could answer—

A man from the front of the crowd shouted,

"Then we'll throw you out ourselves!"

Joseph walked up to Om.

Stopped right in front of him.

Smiled.

Then spoke in a low voice—

"You picked a fight with Singhania… now you'll learn the consequences."

A beat.

"I've heard you've grown wings… time to cut them."

He leaned slightly closer.

"Who even are you, huh? No name, no identity… and acting like you own this place?"

Om smiled.

Calmly.

"That's nice… you dream well. Even in daylight."

Joseph laughed.

Then stroked his beard.

"Singhania was right… you've got attitude."

His smile turned colder.

"But don't worry… it'll break soon."

He turned toward the crowd—

Now shifting into performance mode.

Loud. Manipulative.

"Tell me something!"

His voice echoed.

"Do you want this inexperienced man to treat you? To treat your children?"

He pointed at Om.

"Do you even know if he has a proper degree? And you want to trust your innocent kids with someone like him?"

The crowd stirred.

Some nodded.

Some got influenced.

"No! We don't want him here!"

voices rose.

"We don't need a doctor like him!"

Om watched everything silently.

Then finally—

He spoke loudly.

"Fine. Let's say everything you said is true."

A pause.

"But who decides that?"

The short man scoffed.

"Idiot! This isn't a competition where there's a judge. Whatever the public says—that's the decision!"

Before Om could respond—

A muscular man at the front shouted,

"Why are we even talking? Beat him up! Smash his clinic—let's see where he goes then!"

That line changed everything.

Om's expression—

Shifted.

Slightly.

His eyes locked onto that man.

Sharp.

Cold.

"Don't just stand there!"

the man yelled again.

"Attack him! Destroy everything!"

The crowd started moving.

A few men rushed forward—

Ready to hit him.

Joseph smiled.

Satisfied.

The short man stepped closer and handed him another cigarette.

"Boss, this was easier than we expected."

Joseph took a drag.

"You're right. Singhania exaggerated this guy way too much."

He smirked.

"Now Singhania will be happy… and my relationship with him will get stronger."

A pause.

Then greed flashed in his eyes.

"After that… I'll take this clinic as a gift."

"Of course, sir,"

the short man added eagerly.

"Most of the guys attacking him are Singhania's own men anyway."

Joseph's plan was simple—

Manipulate the crowd.

Turn public opinion against Om.

But to impress Singhania—

He had planted his own goons in the crowd.

They were the ones shouting.

They were the ones provoking violence.

And now—

They were the ones charging toward Om.

Joseph and his man stood there—

Watching.

Smiling.

Confident.

Thinking it was already over.

But what they didn't know—

Was who Om really was.

They had no idea—

How strong he actually was.

And that smile on their faces—

Might disappear…

In just a few seconds.

Now the question wasn't—

Will Om survive?

The question was—

What happens when they realize… who they just challenged?
