Chapter 72 - A Kiss, A Secret… and Burning Eyes

"Hey Abhay… you just swore on your family's name. I hope you understand what it means if you ever break that promise."

The moment Ayush said that, the weight of his words settled in the air.

But Abhay didn't hesitate.

He smiled.

A calm… fearless smile.

"What Om has done for my family…" he said firmly, "for that, I'm ready to lay my entire family at his feet, Ayush."

His voice softened.

"And even then… I won't be able to repay him."

He exhaled, then suddenly clapped his hands lightly, changing the mood.

"Alright, enough of this emotional stuff… let's enjoy the party!"

And just like that—

The tension broke.

Within minutes, food and drinks filled the table. Music grew louder, lights flashed brighter, and the group slowly blended into the energy of the club.

Everyone laughed, talked, and enjoyed.

Even Om.

Despite having complete control over his senses… he chose not to use any of it.

Tonight—

He just wanted to be normal.

To be human.

To be… one of them.

After some time, one by one, everyone moved to the dance floor, losing themselves in the music.

Soon—

Only Om and Supriya were left sitting.

Supriya looked at him.

Really looked at him.

There was something different in her eyes tonight.

Not the bold, playful version of herself…

But something softer.

Real.

She spoke gently—

"Can we go outside… for some fresh air?"

Om nodded without hesitation.

And the two of them walked out of the club.

From inside—

Anshika watched them leave.

Her heart tightened.

A small spark of jealousy flickered inside her.

But she controlled it.

She knew—

Tonight was Supriya's moment.

She wanted to thank Om.

And for that—

Anshika buried her feelings deep inside her chest.

Outside…

The noise of the club faded into the background.

Urban Street looked different now.

Quieter.

Cool air brushing past them as they walked slowly side by side.

Supriya's blue party dress shimmered under the lights, making her look even more beautiful.

And for the first time—

Om noticed something new.

She was… shy.

Om kept his hands in his pockets, walking ahead, eyes fixed forward.

Silence walked with them.

Until—

Supriya broke it.

Looking down, her voice soft—

"Thank you, Om… what you did for me… for my family… we'll never forget it. Not in this lifetime."

She paused.

"And honestly… I don't even know how to thank you properly."

She looked up at him—

Her eyes sincere.

Om smiled faintly, still walking.

"You know… when I was a kid, I never really had friends."

His voice was calm.

But there was something hidden inside it.

"I was scared of people. I thought if I let anyone come close… they'd leave me too. Just like my parents did."

Supriya's expression changed.

"I used to live alone… play alone… watch TV alone. For years… it was just me."

A small pause.

"Then in college… I finally made a friend. For the first time, I felt like I wasn't alone anymore."

His eyes darkened slightly.

"But one day… I found out that I was never really their friend."

Silence.

"That broke me."

His voice dropped.

"So much… that I almost made a very wrong decision."

Supriya's breath caught.

"But that moment…" Om continued, "it changed something inside me. Gave me a new strength."

He looked ahead.

"And I decided—I won't stay alone anymore. And no matter what happens… I'll protect the people close to my heart."

Then he finally looked at her.

"And Supriya… you're one of those people. So how could you even think I'd leave you alone in trouble?"

Supriya's eyes filled with emotion.

But this time—

There was a smile with it.

"You know… before you came into our lives, I was just a spoiled rich girl."

She laughed softly at herself.

"We get everything we ask for… we're treated like royalty at home. And because of that… we expect the same everywhere."

Her voice turned more honest.

"We don't learn respect… or the value of things."

She looked at him.

"But then you came."

A pause.

"I saw you struggle… grow… stand for your people."

Her eyes shined.

"And that's when I understood what things are really worth."

She smiled warmly.

"You gave me a purpose, Om. A reason to help others."

Then softly—

"So… thank you. For everything. And thank you… for coming into my life."

Om just smiled in response.

No words.

Just… understanding.

They had reached the fountain at the center of Urban Street.

Water shimmered under the lights.

And suddenly—

Supriya stepped closer.

And held his hand.

Om froze.

Completely caught off guard.

Before he could react—

She said softly—

"Please… don't take this the wrong way."

And then—

She leaned in.

And kissed him on the cheek.

For a second—

Everything stopped.

Om's eyes widened.

His body stiffened.

His cheeks turned red instantly.

This—

This was the first time.

The first time any girl had kissed him.

And he wasn't ready for it.

Not at all.

Supriya quickly stepped back, her face flushed with embarrassment, eyes lowered.

"Thank you, Om… thank you for everything."

But Om—

He was still frozen.

Still processing what just happened.

His mind blank.

Eyes wide.

Heart racing.

And just when he thought the surprises were over—

They weren't.

Because the next moment—

Supriya turned around…

And froze.

"Anshika…? You're here?"

The name hit Om like a shock.

He turned instantly.

And the moment he saw her—

His heart dropped.

Anshika stood there.

Not just surprised.

Not just shocked.

But angry.

Her eyes burned as she looked at both of them.

And in that moment—

Things were about to get a lot more complicated.
