Chapter 143 - Happy Life

"No one is going anywhere!"

Om's voice echoed through the house—firm, loud, and filled with an authority no one had ever seen in him before.

For a moment, everyone just stared at him… stunned.

Om stepped forward, his expression serious, his eyes steady. He walked straight up to Manoj and stopped right in front of him.

"Uncle… I have just one question. Only one."

Manoj looked at him, confused.

"Do you… not consider us your own?"

The question hit like a thunderbolt.

Manoj's grip loosened instantly—his luggage slipped from his hands and fell to the floor with a dull thud.

"What are you saying, Om, son?" he said, his voice trembling with shock. "You are my family… my life. If not you and my family, then who else would I love?"

Om didn't break eye contact.

"Then tell me, Uncle… what's the problem in sharing pain with your own? And what's wrong in finding happiness with your own people?"

His voice wasn't loud this time—but it carried a weight that pressed straight onto the heart.

Manoj's eyes filled with emotion. He grabbed Om's shoulders, his voice breaking—

"But Om, son… I've hurt you the most by staying silent! None of this would've happened if I had spoken up earlier—if I had stopped Savita when she was wrong, if I had scolded her, corrected her… maybe everything would've been fine today!"

Tears rolled down his cheeks.

"This is my mistake… and because of me, our condition became like that! I don't want my family to suffer again because of me!"

The pain in his voice spread across the room.

Everyone fell silent.

The air turned heavy.

But then—

Om spoke again.

"Do you know, Uncle… when I was little, Dad used to tell me stories about your childhood… about you and Vijay uncle, all the mischief you used to do together…"

A faint smile appeared on his face, but his eyes glistened.

"He used to say how you both would get into trouble… and in the end, he would either save you or get scolded because of you."

A small pause.

"And after every story, he would tell me—'Om, if there's anyone in this world who loves you the most… it's your family. Me… your mom… your uncles and aunts. I'm sure that no matter what happens in life, our family will always stay united.'"

That last line…

It broke something inside both uncles.

Vijay and Manoj lowered their eyes, guilt creeping into their hearts.

Sharda, Harsh, and Isha stood still, listening—completely absorbed, their eyes already moist.

Om continued, his voice softer now, but even deeper—

"After Mom and Dad were gone… yes, I became alone."

His words slowed down, each one carrying years of silence.

"But every day, I used to think… one day will come when I'll finally live peacefully with both my uncles."

He looked around the house, as if seeing those old days again.

"I used to dream… and as kids, we don't even care what's real and what's not. We just live in our own world."

A faint, broken smile touched his lips.

"I used to think… one day Mom and Dad will come back… and we'll all live together—both my uncles, my aunts, and all my cousins. I would be everyone's favorite… and my siblings would be mine."

His voice began to tremble.

"I would keep everyone close to me… stay at Vijay uncle's house whenever I wanted, eat there… and if the food wasn't good, I'd just run to Manoj uncle's house instead."

A tear slipped down his cheek.

"I used to sit alone at the doorstep… waiting for all of you… and I saw thousands of dreams like that."

Silence.

Complete silence.

"And maybe it sounds strange… but those dreams were the reason I stayed happy. Even in that dark corner of my life… I smiled. I hoped. And most importantly… I stayed alive."

No one could hold back anymore.

Tears streamed down every face in the room.

Om turned back to Manoj, his eyes pleading now—

"Maybe I couldn't live those dreams back then… maybe I couldn't feel them… but today—today we have a chance to make them real."

He stepped closer.

"That's why… I don't want this family to break again. At least not now… not when we can finally be together."

His voice cracked.

"Please, Uncle… for me. Stay. Is leaving really more important than me?"

A pause.

"If you truly feel that what I'm saying isn't possible… then go. I won't stop you."

Those words pierced straight into Manoj's heart.

Tears flowed freely from his eyes as he looked at Om—

And suddenly—

Om broke down too.

He stepped forward and hugged Manoj tightly.

"But… it's your own people who try to stop you, right?" he said through his tears. "Strangers don't care about someone else's life…"

His voice trembled uncontrollably.

"So please… don't leave me, Uncle. Don't leave us… please…"

And in that moment—

Both uncle and nephew held onto each other and cried without holding anything back.

Years of pain… regret… loneliness—

All of it poured out.

After a while, Manoj gently pulled back, wiped Om's tears, and smiled through his own—

"Alright… my son."

His voice was soft, but full of warmth.

"We're not going anywhere. You've forced me to stay."

He nodded firmly.

"We'll stay together now. I won't leave my brother… or you… or any of our children."

He placed his hand on Om's head.

"Live every dream of yours, Om. Fulfill every wish. Live freely."

His eyes shone with emotion.

"You were right… family is the one that stays together. That laughs together, faces hardships together, celebrates happiness together… and cries together in sorrow. But never breaks apart."

A deep breath.

"And from today… I'll live by that meaning."

Happiness burst through the room.

Everyone rushed forward, hugging each other, tears turning into smiles.

The broken pieces were finally coming together.

But just then—

Om suddenly shouted—

"But now… we won't stay in this house anymore!"

The room froze again.

Everyone turned toward him in shock.

"What?!"
