Bella hesitated. Every instinct told her to be careful. But something in Alexa's face made her nod.
Alexa lifted the baby carefully from the stroller, cradling him against her chest. He was small, so small, wrapped in a pale blue blanket. His face was round and soft, his eyes closed, his tiny mouth pursed.
"His name is Adrian," Alexa said softly.
Bella's heart softened despite herself. "That's a beautiful name."
Adrian stirred at the sound of her voice. His eyes opened slowly, blue, so blue, the same shade as Archer's. He blinked up at Bella, unfocused, curious, and her chest ached.
"Can I hold him?" The question came out before she could stop it.
Alexa looked surprised, then something flickered in her eyes, hope, maybe. "Of course."
