It was rare for the entire family to be together like this. With Leo's busy schedule, Alessandro's and Lina's constant travels, moments like this had become precious and few. But somehow, by some stroke of luck, they had all managed to gather in one place.
Bella's heart warmed as she looked around the room. Leo was talking to his father, his voice low and serious. Lina was laughing at something Nonna had said. William was showing Jay and Jace an old photograph, his hands trembling slightly but his smile wide.
This was what family should feel like. This was what she had always wanted.
She felt happy. Truly, deeply happy.
And then her phone rang.
She glanced at the screen. Miss J.
She stepped outside, walking onto the porch where the afternoon sun was warm on her skin. She answered the call, her voice bright and cheerful.
