Chapter 56 - Chapter 55: Mastermind

"Sorry General I have to leave, Sylph teleport me back to the stadium."

"Why, is there anything wrong?" General Lance asked, as she watched her pick up her sword, one Luke told her to always carry just in case.

In reality, Sarah didn't need it because she could form one with her spirits, it was more of a sign of love.

"Sunflower, the fairy I put to watch a good friend of my son isn't responding. I can't feel her connection, something's wrong and I can feel it, I have to go."

Sarah said before disappearing in a blinding flash of light.

"I should be out there fighting, yet I'm here commanding from a safe room, I feel so old." General Lance sighed as he reminisced of his fighting days as a knight commander.

Appearing in the stadium, the first thing she noticed was that the situation was not explained well and it was way worse than she thought.

"Oh goodness!" Sarah said in shock as she looked around her, collapsed stands, entrances and exits blocked, the sight that made her heart skip was the infirmary that was now a pile of rubble.

"It can't be!" Sarah whispered as negative thoughts ran wild in her head.

She saw a few recognizable knights fighting and snapped out of it.

"Mom, we need help ensuring civilians are out of harm's way. The whole place could come down at any moment." Jayden suddenly communicated through Marigold.

"Okay I'm on it. Where are you." Sarah said as she sprinted towards the frantic people that had just escaped when the dome came down.

There was a pause in Jayden's reply, "Jayden, did you hear me, where are you?"

After what seemed like the longest six seconds of Sarah's life, Jayden replied, his voice slightly hoarse.

"I.. I..I'm fighting the person that, tha… that killed Nadia" Jayden said finally, the rage and sorrow noticeable in his voice.

The words hit her like a blow. Nadia was like a second daughter to her, as well as Ren. The worst part of it was that she couldn't imagine the amount of pain that Jayden might have been going through.

"Oh no, I'm on my way. Just wait for me." Sarah's eyes started to glow emerald-blue as thousands of different flying spirits appeared in the sky.

After her powers were evolved by future Jayden at the fairy queen's forest, her abilities had increased drastically.

"Find a person and take them to the shelter now." She commanded.

"Now to get to Jayden. Also where are the undead, weren't they a lot in this area?"

Her answer came as she saw hundreds of Undead running out of the stadium and heads flying away, at immense speeds, a golden blur, followed by black decaying ash. "What is that?" Sarah wondered as she watched what was unfolding.

Sabrina's plan was going exactly as she planned but there was one fatal flaw she had not taken into account, and that was the scale of how powerful Logic disruption was.

The undead army was created with the intention to kill every and any human they encountered, and that was the case up until recent.

They fought continuously against a very strong foe, tearing them down, slowly but surely, but what was happening now was the exact opposite.

No matter how many they were, before 2, they fell before they could land a single attack. This continuing for over a hundred of their fellow undead instilled something in them.

After-death fear.

And this was only made possible by the phenomenon known as Logic Disruption.

Having watched their fellow soldiers die continuously without being able to do anything, they had come to the same realization.

They would all die.

Due to the immense anger in Jayden at the recreation of 2, the clone became flawed, inheriting only Jayden's anger. The anger had transformed into madness.

And that madness was directed at only the undead.

"Stop running. I thought your kind didn't feel fear."2 screamed in laughter as he tore more undead limb to limb.

"Spare me please" An undead seemed to beg.

"Nope. Not a chance." 2 laughed as he pierced his mana filled hand into its neck and dragged it up dividing its head into two. 2 landed on the ground, turned, and with a smile that couldn't have been mistaken for anything other than psychopathic, he asked "Who's coming next."

….…..

"Damn. I'm seriously hurt." Telon said as he arrived at the stadium.

"That guy just didn't go down, just kept coming back, but I got him this time I'm sure of it. I'll deal with the rest later on."

"Wait, who's that?" Telon stopped and looked at a young woman standing alone talking out loud to herself.

"She's probably mad, whatever at least an easy prey has come." Telon said as he rushed the lady with his outstretched, clawed hands.

"I don't think I'm in the mood for your useless attacks." Sarah said as a dragon's claw slammed down on Telon.

Sarah turned and Telon could see the vein on her forehead, the way her eyes moved and her face.

Telon felt fear.

"You've killed before, I can feel it, that means you should be prepared for the consequences." Sarah said as she stretched her hands out and it started to glow.

…....

Jayden and Kevin stood panting although Kevin was by far in a worse condition.

"I'm almost at my limit, I've been using Aura extension and Archangel of wisdom, along with the seven mana seas for far too long, we have to end this now."

Sabrina laughed at them as she walked forward in all her malicious beauty.

"Don't worry I'll keep the Angel boy alive, it would be a waste to kill him, but you Jayden, once, I'm done with you…"

Sabrina paused.

Something felt…wrong.

Her mana. It was fluctuating wildly within her.

Almost as if it was fighting a battle within her, a battle it could not win.

In the middle of trying to uncover what exactly what was wrong, a voice boomed in her ear.

"TIME'S UP!"

The voice seemed to echo loudly in her head.

I think I've allowed you to play long enough, haven't I?"

A stabbing, searing pain was felt in Sabrina's heart as she began to vomit blood.

Sabrina began to scream in pain as her body shook violently.

"What is this? What's happening to me?"

"Did you think you can con me, foolish mortal. Well, the human race were always a tricky and persistent race."

"…You…"

Her voice trembled.

"You planned this?"

The mana in the air changed and became denser, the area around Sabrina, slowly melting.

"I am Vanis, the constellation of fire, did you really think you could fool me?"

"No, no, no, no, no. I can't go like this, I haven't brought my mother back. I haven't killed everyone. Why is the world always against me. I just acquired a new body."

"You're misunderstanding things, Sabrina. This body was never yours for the taking."

Sabrina screamed as her face and skin started to burn off, her whole body set ablaze. "This can't be happening. Not like this." Sabrina thought as her life flashed before her eyes.

The flames consumed her.
