Baldy didn't speak, his face stern, while his underlings behind him were visibly angry, clearly intending to beat Yellow Hair into a pulpy mess if they could.
After Yellow Hair said those words, he glared at Baldy with a steely expression. It was clear that with the Axe Gang backing him, he usually accomplished whatever he wanted quickly, no one daring to provoke him. Yet, here with Baldy, it was his first time being put in his place, and quite a severe one at that.
Today, since Baldy dared to confront him like this, surely more would dare to speak to him this way in the future. How would he maintain his status then, and how would he hold face among his underlings? Of course, these were secondary concerns. The real issue was the task assigned to him by the boss—if he failed it, would the boss give him other tasks in the future? Would he still be employed? If not, what use is he?
These were intolerable conditions for him, things that he absolutely couldn't let happen.
