The Polar Evil Spirit ignored the assistant's words and drifted toward him instead.
When the assistant saw the Polar Evil Spirit flying toward him, he was so scared that he wet his pants. He then scrambled back into the ice house and barricaded the door.
Panting heavily, the assistant recalled the terrifying scene he had just witnessed and muttered to himself, "Damn it! Are you kidding me? Could what the three women said be true—that there's really a Polar Evil Spirit here in the Arctic Circle, in this world of ice and snow?"
The assistant swallowed hard and then tried to comfort himself. "It's okay, don't be scared. Even if there's a ghost outside, it can't get in as long as you stay inside this sturdy ice house. This place is absolutely safe…"
So, the assistant lay down again, ready to go back to sleep. But the image of the Polar Evil Spirit was seared into his mind, and he was so frightened that he just tossed and turned, unable to get any rest.
