Seeing the pendant, Britney couldn't help but stare. "Is this piece of junk what you're giving Guo'er?" she asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"What piece of junk? This is a real treasure, way better than that Jade Buddha of yours," Lin Kuang said irritably.
"Really? I'm not that well-read, so don't you try to fool me!" Britney said doubtfully. "A small, mottled pendant like this is supposed to be more valuable than my Jade Buddha? I just don't believe it."
"Heh, you'd better believe it. When it comes to jade, size isn't everything. Purity and origin are what matter," Lin Kuang said with a smug smile, toying with the mottled jade in his hand.
"Yeah, right. But this pendant is obviously full of impurities," Britney said skeptically. "That has nothing to do with being pure, does it?"
"Heh, that's what you don't understand. The mottled look is just a surface layer. Once I grind it away, you'll see this pendant's true form," Lin Kuang said with a mischievous grin.
