"Jieke, stop right there," Xi'er shouted from behind.
Jieke ran far ahead and waited, panting heavily. Seeing his sister catching up, he complained, "Sis, do you also think they're scammers?"
Xi'er shook her head and said, "Jieke, whether they're scammers or not, we can't place our hopes on others. This is our home. Besides, I've been chosen as their leader. If I make a wrong move, it could lead to a big mistake."
Xi'er spoke seriously, treating Jieke like an adult instead of her usual lecturing tone.
Jieke wasn't a child either; he understood the responsibility his sister carried and knew his previous words were just out of frustration.
"Sis, I know. I'm just annoyed they treat me like a kid," Jieke said casually as he tossed small stones.
Seeing Jieke acknowledge his mistake, Xi'er smiled and sat beside him. "Alright, our Jieke has grown up. You have to help me build this place up."
