Kristina was dumbstruck! She had imagined countless scenarios of Ye Xiu finding her, most of which involved him apologizing, promising never to disobey her again, and swearing to take her everywhere he went. She never expected that upon seeing her, Ye Xiu would actually hit her. And on the butt, no less. All the while, he chattered on like an elder who had just found a runaway youth.
"What gives you the right to hit me?" Enraged, Kristina struggled free from Ye Xiu's demonic grasp, scrambled to her feet, and roared.
"Oho, you dare talk back? Believe it or not, I could deal with you right here in this Bamboo Forest!" Ye Xiu barked, glaring at her.
Kristina immediately wilted. Plucking up her courage, she stammered, "I—I just thought the environment here was nice and wanted to stay. I wasn't trying to hide from you."
