The Jade Lotus Sect had many things.
It had manuals that others would kill for, a sect master who could crack mountains with a beast bone, and a senior brother whose existence alone could cause either blessings or disasters depending on the hour.
What it did not have, however, was a place to fool around.
"Every sect needs recreation," Georgia declared.
The tanned beauty had gathered the other three girls in a patch of flat land near the outer side of the sect, where grass grew in stubborn little clusters between stones. She stood with her arms crossed beneath her chest, long legs planted firmly, looking as though she had already been appointed ruler of the area despite the fact that nobody had asked for her opinion yet.
Anya tilted her head. "Recreation?"
"Yes. Leisure. Games. Hobbies. A place where girls can do something besides cultivate, wash robes, and fight for Senior Brother's attention."
Averie's eyes brightened at once. "Can we add whipping posts?"
