Somewhere far away:
"Your Majesty, the Department of Intelligence has something unusual to report."
It was not truly a throne room, but it wasn't far from it. The man hailed as His Majesty sat on a comfortable chair deep into the room, with the visitors only bowing without the custom of kneeling.
While he was titled an emperor, it had nothing to do with the fact he had vast forces under his command. It was merely the formal way of addressing anyone with his level of cultivation.
"What is it?" the man questioned, unbothered. There wasn't much trouble in his life. There couldn't be; he was too strong. He didn't expect, however, that this time would be different.
"We've detected signs of divinity in the trapped domain. The goddess has perhaps regained some strength."
Brief silence dominated the hall. The emperor's jaw seemed to tighten. "But the gods are gone… Are you sure of this, Howard?"
