When Maverick arrived at the location Gilbert shared, he caught Kayden at the hotel's lobby, with a shopping bag in each hand.
Maverick silently shadowed him until they were both in the elevator. A middle aged man tried to enter, but Maverick shoved him back, sending him crashing on his arse.
"What the hell?" Kayden dropped the bags and tried to help. But he was pulled back by the furious tug on his collar by Maverick.
He slammed his back against the wall, and caged Kayden's throat with his fingers.
In a loud whisper he demanded, "How are you connected to my sister?!"
Kayden grabbed his wrists, and pried them off his neck. "Are all Graysons this unhinged?" He tossed him aside and picked the shopping bags up.
Keeping a civil distance between them, Kayden replied, "I'm pursuing her-"
"Then stop." He retorted, "She's leagues above you. Don't get cocky over closing one deal with Matthew."
