"Hey, did you notice everyone's looking at you?" Pei Yining and Xu Nianhua were wandering around school when they realized something was off—a lot of students were sneaking glances at them.
"Um..." Xu Nianhua touched her nose and said, "Maybe it's because I got a perfect score in foreign languages?"
Ever since the semester started, word had gotten out in their foreign languages department that Xu Nianhua scored full marks on the college entrance exam.
So, Xu Nianhua felt like every time she went out, she'd run into plenty of people secretly checking her out. All those looks made her want to avoid going outside altogether.
She didn't want to have people stop her every time, asking her how she learned foreign languages.
"True, you're kind of a big deal in our school." Pei Yining winked at her and asked, "Did you sign up for anything for the end-of-month welcome party?"
"Nope."
