Chapter 130 - 130: About Gohan and Mutants.

"Should we help Goku? His fight doesn't seem as easy as it looks," Krillin said, sounding concerned as he watched the battle between his friend and his apparent older brother.

"Unless he asks for it or it's a really serious situation, I think it's best not to get involved in his fight. It's something Goku has to fight on his own," Ten Shin Han replied to his friend, causing Krillin to scratch his head, unsure of how to respond.

"I would normally think it's just stubbornness, but Ten Shin Han has a point. Imagine thinking for decades that you're the only one left in your family and then meeting a brother you knew nothing about and fighting him just five minutes later.

If something like that happened to me... I'd probably want to resolve it on my own," added Yamcha, who was following the battle through his Ki perception. This allowed him to know everything that was happening between the two fighters quite accurately.

"Oh, my poor Goku! He must be feeling terrible inside. Having to fight a hostile relative must cause him pain. He's a very sensitive person," exclaimed Chi-Chi, who was carrying little Gohan. Despite her efforts to calm him down, he wouldn't stop crying.

He was too young to understand what was happening around him, but he seemed to sense that something bad was happening, so he cried louder and louder.

This brought out something never before seen in the child. With each cry, a wild, erratic aura full of negative emotions emerged from him as if catalyzed by his confused feelings.

"That child's crying is so annoying, but..." Piccolo turned his attention away from the fight and toward Chi-Chi and little Gohan. Gohan's body seemed to be covered in a faint crimson aura that flickered constantly and emitted electric arcs.

For any Namekian, a race with exceptional hearing, Gohan's crying was cruel torture. In fact, any extremely high-pitched sound could incapacitate them and cause them pain.

Piccolo was aware of this racial disadvantage and worked to overcome it, just as Goku trained with his tail to avoid losing his strength when an enemy squeezed it.

However, he wouldn't be too concerned if it were just the crying, even if it made him uncomfortable. It was the constant leakage of Ki that Gohan suffered from that made the situation peculiar and dangerous for a normal person.

Fortunately, the people gathered on the small islet near the fight between Goku and Raditz were strong enough to withstand this child's energetic commotion without being affected.

"Gohan, it seems that your great-grandson's talent is unusual, to say the least," said Muten Roshi. He approached Chi-Chi cautiously, not wanting to overexcite the whimpering child in her arms. The child's energy reacted to Roshi's emotions, unleashing itself uncontrollably.

"This is the first time I've seen anything like this in him, Master. Could it be something bad?" asked elderly Gohan, worried. He had never expected the child who shared his name to have such a strange reaction to crying alone.

"That's because that child is a mutant, in the best sense of the word," said Bulma, who had remained silent until now, scanning Gohan with her perception and empathic ability to understand the nature of his commotion.

"Oh? I think you explained that concept once! So Gohan's talent must be quite high?" Krillin asked excitedly. But Bulma shook her head.

"No, for this child, being a mutant is just a bonus. The combination of Saiyan and human DNA has elevated his potential, surpassing that of a typical Saiyan or Earthling." Bulma approached Gohan with her hand outstretched. A faint layer of violet energy emanated from her hand, creating a warm, relaxed feeling like sunlight.

"What underwent mutation? His human side, his Saiyan side, or the combination of both?" A hybrid is never just the sum of its parents. It's a combination of the two that creates something completely new. That's why, in nature, they're often sterile. But I doubt this little one has that problem." Bulma's hand touched Gohan's forehead, and he finally stopped crying. His energy gradually calmed, and he fell asleep in his mother's arms.

"Generally, when we talk about 'mutants,' we're referring to a specimen that deviates from the norm for some reason. In nature, mutations are the driving force behind evolution...or extinction." Bulma's words sounded unusually cold, but she didn't stop there. She continued talking while stroking her nephew's spiky hair.

"However, in the realm of martial artists, individuals who possess a certain understanding and use of ki, the term 'mutant' is associated with someone with above-average potential. But this child was born with such profound potential that being a mutant is, as I said, merely an adornment." The blue-haired girl smiled, happy that the child was finally resting peacefully.

The others could understand this because several of them could be considered mutants. Bulma and Piccolo were two examples; he was considered a Super Namekian among his own people.

Although the others were unusually talented by Earth standards, they could not be considered mutants. Even Ten Shin Han had only experienced a rare case of atavism, which caused him to regain characteristics hidden in his DNA. However, he could not be considered a mutant; rather, he was a special kind of hybrid.

This is good because, if he trains properly, he can reach heights that we may not be able to. However, it's also bad. I don't have to say much, right? We'll have to teach him properly.

We must ensure that his mentality does not stray and teach him good emotional control without burying his true nature," Bulma mentioned this because she remembered that Gohan was an unusual pacifist, unlike his restless parents.

Of course, this Gohan was different from the one she remembered. He probably had a slightly different personality or perhaps an opposite one. After all, this was the real world, something she was grateful for, given the surprises she could encounter.

Besides, personality isn't just something inherited; it's shaped by time, education, and experiences. She was willing to see how this child would turn out without forcing anything.

Everyone present could feel her emotions. They could see that Bulma had high hopes for little Gohan's future. Therefore, they silently committed to providing him with a suitable environment in which to grow up.

"Do you think he's the supposed Super Saiyan Jaco told us about?" Lazuli asked suddenly. Bulma shook her head and turned to look at Goku, who was fighting intensely with his older brother.

"No, the Super Saiyan is a different kind of being. They are the mutants of mutants, the epitome of a race's raw power and ancient legacy. The Galactic Patrol knows only that these beings are absolute monsters, overwhelmed by their practically infinite energy," Bulma replied, remembering Jaco's fear when he mentioned those terrifying stories.

Every millennium, a Super Saiyan emerges and wreaks havoc on the Northern Galaxy, causing many species in the universe to fear this unusual mutant. However, the one who was supposed to emerge in the last millennium had not, which was extremely rare.

Jaco theorized that his mission to check on Goku in the past was to see if Goku could be a Super Saiyan because no one wanted to be caught off guard by this cosmic threat.

After that, Jaco said he couldn't understand how the Tsufurus could accept the Saiyans on their planet. Didn't they know the legends about this species? Or were they too innocent, relying excessively on technology?

The planet Sadala, home of the Saiyans, was destroyed by the last Super Saiyan more than a thousand years ago. Then, the Saiyans went to the planet Plant, where they were granted asylum. They remained there in relative peace for centuries, recovering from the social degradation they suffered due to collective exile.

What the entire universe remembers then happened: The Saiyans' betrayal and the conquest of the planet by the then-king, Vegeta. This turned the poor Tsufurus into cosmic nomads, eager for revenge but unable to achieve it.

This information, provided by Jaco and available on the Galactic Patrol network, allowed Bulma to learn more about the universe she lived in. She even decided to share some of this information with her acquaintances.

They understood very well when Lazuli and Bulma talked about the supposed Super Saiyan. Piccolo, in particular, looked at Gohan with more interest, realizing something important.

Piccolo was no longer the youngest in the group! Apart from that, he realized he had to train harder. Not only was he the descendant of a demon, but he also possessed the enhanced memories and intellect of one of the most intelligent Earthlings.

Thanks to Kami-Sama, he had also managed to complete the essence of his other half. Piccolo and Kami-Sama now shared only a slight connection, as they were two separate beings with similar yet distinct natures.

If they were to merge again, they would no longer be the nameless Namekian but rather an entity with vastly superior potential to the being forgotten by his own kind on Earth.

'I don't know why, but when I see this child, I feel as if I am on the verge of a new beginning. Something is starting, and I need to prepare for it,' thought Piccolo. His scientific and magical knowledge made him sensitive to things that others were not, and he could sense that something was changing at that moment.

"Bulma, do you think that Saiyan came alone?" Ten Shin Han asked, causing the others to pay attention to him. Even Piccolo came out of his stupor, interested in this matter.

They already knew the true nature of this species: they invade planets and sell them to a superior being. Thanks to Jaco and the Space Forum, they knew of the Saiyan remnants in space.

Three continued to work the same way under the orders of a terrifying entity who was a moderator of the forum. Another seemed to live on an isolated planet and appeared to be related to one of the aforementioned three, just as Goku was related to Raditz, a member of the group.

This cunning Saiyan had not revealed his name or his planet of origin, only that he was royalty. His nickname on the forum was 'Second_Saiyan_Prince.'

Apart from him, a space bandit named Turles was known only by name and as a Saiyan. Whether there were more Saiyans in the universe was unknown. They probably remained hidden to avoid scrutiny and the revenge of the species they had displaced.

"From what we know so far, that guy came alone, but I don't rule out the arrival of the other two. After all, they are under Freezer's command, and that guy is a nuisance," said Bulma, somewhat annoyed at the thought.

She realized she had to speed up many of her plans. Luckily, her preparations were extensive enough to allow her to do so and still have everything turn out well.

For example, her resources had helped her friends become stronger, which they would need in the future to withstand what was coming. She could sense that some things were changing and setting themselves in motion.

Trust the canon? The moment she saw Raditz today, she knew she could no longer count on the events that occurred in the supposed canon. Perhaps the appearance of that Saiyan was one of the few remnants of it.

Her future adventures would be very different from the show she remembered. This filled her with excitement and gratitude, feelings she had experienced countless times before.

'Thank you for letting me know that this is a real, living world.'

AN: You should know this: I don't plan on following the events exactly as they happened in the original story. It's obvious, isn't it? There may be traces of the original story, but it won't be exactly as we saw it in the series. What if the fight against Freezer isn't on Namek but on Earth? Will someone from the future of this timeline travel to the past, or will they come from a different timeline where the events happened as they did in the original series?

How surprised would that traveler be to find that the events he was told about didn't happen the way he was told, and that his mother didn't even keep an eye on his father? Would Bulma leave something unattended, like Babidi and Majin Buu? Could Cell evolve differently if he reached this timeline? Bulma already prevented the birth of the cyborgs, after all. What does Gero have in mind? There are many other little things to consider. Remember, this is a complete alternate universe. If you want to see the classic Krillin-dies-Goku-Saiyan scene, watch the original show! Go watch the original show!
