He was just about to fly towards the mysterious hole to block the spatial passage, but before he could act, a furious voice erupted. From the deepest part of the Stygian River Projection, the Blood Ancestor's incarnation emerged, smoke pouring from his body and his face a ghastly white. Staggering like a mad dog, he charged toward Lin Tang.
"Oh? You've been hiding in there this whole time, waiting for a chance to ambush me?" Lin Tang laughed. "Too bad your plan backfired so spectacularly. Getting caught in a nuke wasn't part of the plan, was it?"
That was indeed what had happened. The Blood Ancestor had secretly contacted his acquaintances in the Underworld—or rather, his familiar gods—and expressed a desire to defect to their camp. They, however, didn't trust him, suspecting he was a spy. They demanded he prove his loyalty with a significant offering.
And so... tragedy struck.
