Xue Yang gently stroked her head. "Is your father home?"
Lin Xi pursed her crimson lips. "He's not. He hasn't been back for a long time."
"Like we agreed, I want to get your father's approval for us to be together."
Xue Yang had come today intending to meet Lin Xi's father, but as luck would have it, he wasn't home.

Xue Yang led Lin Xi by the hand toward the passenger side of the car. After seeing her settled in, he went to get her luggage.
He walked up to Auntie Shen and Uncle He and gave them a slight nod. "Auntie Shen, Uncle He."
