Xia Zhijin stared blankly, her shy gaze fixed on Li Yuan as her body trembled with tension. She murmured softly, "Ah, why lock the door?"
"What do you think?" Li Yuan chuckled mischievously. Teasing Xia Zhijin today had dissipated much of the sadness and helplessness he felt about his upcoming meeting with Zhong Tingyue.
Xia Zhijin's cheeks flushed crimson. Her beautiful eyes blinked rapidly, unaware that a crystalline layer of tears had begun to form. Though she felt wronged and anxious, Xia Zhijin still took gentle steps to the door, turned the handle, and locked it from the inside.
Then, she obediently returned to Li Yuan's side, a deep blush spreading from her cheeks all the way down her neck. Lowering her head as if accepting her fate, she replied in a nearly inaudible voice, "The... the door is locked."
