Chapter 23 - The beauty of the Look!

Gently Sheela. Sheela simply raised her hand and dismissed her. It's fine.

I snickered as soon as I saw her face red with embarrassment. It didn't go unnoticed by her because she elbowed me in the rear.

Hope you don't mind me bringing Geeta. I'll be the one paying for her, Israr says. I hope you won't regret that I did throw up most of my food! She grinned.

William chuckled and patted a slightly nervous Israr just as if you ever need any help!

The six of us headed out together. Jack was the one leading the group while chatting along the way. Israr and William were talking about their new squad leader, Commander Swiss. I was very, very awkward at first because Sheela was there. I mean is it really good to talk about someone who's an acquaintance? Yes, I was afraid that they were going to get their commander in trouble for talking behind her back.

He is very strict, too strict. William says we were doing fine, to be honest, but he was punishing us when the other can't hit the target as well. He complained just as we were walking down the stairs towards.

I frowned: "Are you guys sure that we are heading to the marketplace or is this just a part of our plan of yours to take us to your dragon?" I narrowed my eyes at them suspiciously. They all paused from where they were in order to look at me. A second later they snickered, followed by multiple chuckles. I felt someone rippling my head. I turned to see that it was Sheela. I admired your memory. There was a pause as she covered her laugh with a cough before looking back.

But this idea isn't just to head to the detention facility. It's basically what you land dwellers call a train station, only with more convenience. We continued to talk until we passed through another set of doors different from the last one that we passed through. A moment later the same cart that I saw arrived in front of us. The door slid open and we all came inside and took seats. I sure do hope that once we can go back that we will have this kind of design as our mode of public transport.

Israr sat cross-legged as the door started to close. "It's clean, neat, and very smooth plus you don't have to wait for long for vehicles since it automatically detects passengers once you pass through the gate, even the number as well." What about traffic? Don't you get? You guys don't have to worry about collision, I asked.

"The front and back of the cart have modifications on them that would ripple any collision without a hard bounce-off that reflects the force of collision, Sheela said. I didn't ask any more of them because I no longer want to hear any big brain explains, especially with the pump on my head.

I simply looked out of the window and marveled at the sight. The scene reminds me of an ant-like sort of arrangement where cards are followed in and out, glass clear enough that you can easily dismiss them. The route that was talking as to the marketplace was different because we have to pass through another long tube with thicker glass where we can see the ocean outside. I was moving in my seat to admire all the architectural structure outside that the glass was allowing me to see.

To our back, where we came from, was a mushroom-like place enclosed in a glass sphere. Tons of little spheres surrounded it and were connected by the tubes. To our front was a large half sphere with the surface area facing the ocean floor and just behind it was a very huge glass sphere that enclosed a modern and futuristic town inside. I leaned in closer to get a better look at it. Sheela noticed my struggle and moved away from my view so I can get a better look at it. She followed my gaze and turned to gaze back at me with a proud grin. That's an original Lemurian, the one in our land myth and books, the very same one that sank many years ago, currently residing now as just an extension of it. She explained, "It's beautiful." I admired it. Are we allowed to go there only when you have proven yourself and you become recognized enough to be called a leader? The view of Lemurian finally disappeared.

The moment we were inside the other dome, a gate then opened. I saw a path for a cart to follow. It stopped the moment we reached the middle of the hill before it opened. As soon as we were all out, the cart started moving again until it disappeared at the other door of the dome. Jack pulled my shoulder and forced me to look at the scenery in front of me. "Welcome to the marketplace," he declared.

I feel like my eyes were playing tricks on me because the marketplace looks like something out of fairy tales. In a very puristic way the setting and atmosphere remind me of a medieval period. Save for the bots and goons that are currently doing their rounds in cleaning and organizing. The building stood out and through its glasses I could see cloths, surface-style clothing. I even saw a few people here wearing shirts and pants.

i saw a man wearing green draggy, a Levitan cart and talking to one of the shopkeeper the man wearing the green jumpsuit somehow looks familiar then i realized that he was the same man who waved to sheela and I went we visited the vegetarian area he was tapping on his cuff before showing a holographic screen to the shopkeeper the shopkeeper nodded and tapped his own cuff to the man after that they smiled and shook hands with each other .

A man that seemingly looks drunk hiccupped and knocked a cup from the table and spilled its content on both table and floor.

A man ducked down and attempted to pick up the cup, but he was so drunk that he fell down. A robot suddenly zoomed it in front of and caught them man just before his face could crash with the floor.at the same time a bunch of drones appeared and cleaned up the mess that the man left. The robot then caught the man, scanned his scarf before it hauled him over its back and drove past to get the vehicle.

"It's going to take him home. "Sheela answered me even though I did not voice out the question. "The weather is nice. The boss must be in a good mood, "Jack says while stretching his back. "Come on and let's go look for something to eat.!"

Weather? Aren't we underwater?

As we started walking, I looked up to see clouds floating above us and a few rays of sun were peeking through them, and I even felt the warmth as they passed through. I looked at my hands that were basketed under the light and got utterly confused, "What the hell?" I knew that they were under water just a while ago.

I looked at Sheela, hoping that she could see the question in my eyes. It's all just hologram, she says. "The thermal conditions here are modified based on the program and the setting set up by the admin to replicate the weather on the surface world."

Is it really necessary to go through such a length? I mean, the thermal condition in Lemuria is good if I am being honest."

Sheela gave me a small smile at that. Glad to hear that but most of the people here are the ones who were rescued after they were captured or the ones who were saved before they got, like you and Mrs. Geeta. We want to at least provide a place for them. Reminiscences because we have a lot of cases where some are having a panic attack because they miss the world outside. Most of them are not fairies and it would be too risky for them to walk out. The Lemurians designed this place for them but with a few Lemurian touches of course."

"Lemurians sure are generous, I commander."

Jack, and the other were now huddled into a shawl as they sniffed out some meats that were being barbecued. Sheela started to follow them but I had to pause as I looked to the stall opposite the one they were looking at.

My eyes were glued to the slices of potato that were being cut into strips and dimmed into a hot oil. I heard the sizzling sound as the potatoes were thrown in. French fries! God, how I missed them especially those thin strips that have fried just right. I bet they would go really well with the barbecue!

I headed over and looked at the price list near the stall and was almost disappointed at the price rate: 5 druils for a small size, 10 for medium, and 15 for large. At the moment I still have 50 druils but I was hesitant to use it since I am still not familiar with the currency of this place.

"One last salter." I looked up to see Sheela ordering beside me.

"General!" the shopkeeper beamed at her. "It has been a while! How are you doing?

Well, this no longer surprises me. It seems that almost everyone in this place knows Sheela. I get that she is gentle and all, but I feel like she is too popular.

I am doing good. How are you and your daughter?

"She's doing great in the medical department. The man looked proud as he scooped up a few fries and dumped them into a white box made out of ceramic on top of the digital scale. We are actually doing better compared to the time that we lived on the surface. "
