The room is only filled with the sound of the vital monitor. It's the hospital room. The day has become dark, but Aven is still beside the bed, asleep due to fatigue.
The one on the bed is none other than the lover that has been mentioned by Archie. The man is in deep sleep, not showing any sign of waking up. still, even never give up on hope that his boyfriend will not wake up.
Aven woke up from his sleep. He woke with a beautiful smile to show that he did not fall into despair in front of the man he loved. The man has always closed his eyes, but to Aven, if by any chance he dropped his smile, his lover would be worried.
he the first lover Aven ever had. The man that too kind to the world that the world itself turns its back on him and makes him suffer. This man that called Elwell, has been so dear to Aven to let go.
Aven stroked Elwell's hair gently before kissing him on his forehead. he then sat again reminiscing about the moment they met. It's the moment so magical to Aven as he is in a very deep darkness before Elwell pulls himself from it.
Aven is not naturally a cheerful person like he is now. He is a young soul who lost his passion to live. He just lives because there is life in him. he never feels anything when it comes to the things he likes. he never likes anything and just lives a life like a soulless doll.
He had no friends or social life before meeting Elwell. Elwell, whom he met during his orientation week, is the one who shine his life for the first time. Elwell is a very respected senior in school. He is the pride of the school that always shines. No one can ever beat his popularity at school.
Even when first meeting Elwell, the only thought that ever came to him was 'what a shiny person'. He never thought that Elwell would even take notice to miserable looking junior like him, as hundreds beside him are much better dressed compared to him.
"Hello, what is your name?" that's is the first words that come from Elwell when he looks at Aven being alone during their entire orientation week.
Aven was surprised to see the gentle smile that was put on toward him. "Aven".
Elwell never loses his smile, as it has become an everyday habit for him. Elwell then sits beside Aven with the intention of getting closer. Aven flinched at the sudden approach.
"So, why did you get into this school?" asked Elwell the moment he sat.
Aven took a moment before answering, "Because of my mother?"
"Really, I thought you wanted it yourself. A bit of a shame since this school is one of the best schools, though."
Aven just nodded. Elwell, seeing that reaction and hyperly said, "I want to be in the football club"
Suddenly, in Aven's heart. he still so confused by the senior in front of him. What is his intention in approaching him? Most people will usually avoid the fact that he looks so haggard and unapproachable.
Seeing Elwell's face full of anticipation of his answers, Aven just nodded.
"Really, then see you later at the field. See you there. " If you don't come, I will come looking for you tomorrow," said Elwell with half a threat in his tone. He got up and stroked Aven's head before he left.
Aven is in deep confusion. Does he need to go? But the fact that Elwell will come looking for him if he doesn't go does make him restless.
At the end, he decided to stay back and go to the field that afternoon. He can see a lot of people beside him. Compared to them, Aven might be the only one who is not accustomed to football. He just came due to Elwell.
Later on, Elwell came with the head coach standing in front of the people. They started with saying, "welcome the new students, as you know this is a football club and we are honored to see a new talent in front of us today. The one stand beside me will be your club leader or captain. So if there's anything that prevents you from reaching me, make sure to inform the person beside me. Elwell introduced yourself".
"Hello everyone, I know this is not our first meeting since I was also part of the orientation week. I am the one who led your other senior during that time. But if by any chance there are still some who don't know me, my name is Elwell, and also your captain," Elwell explained.
Then the coaches start by having the students run the whole field for 3 laps. Aven had heard of feeling helpless. He is not that athletic to begin with because of the 'threat'; he is suddenly forced to become one. Aven never understand Elwell inttention. The whole time while he ran, he more or less cursed Elwell in his head.
He can see that he is the only one who is left behind. He's only in the second half, while others are either done or on their last laps. The amount of swear words in his head never stops. "Shit, this is all his fault".
"Who? Me?" said the person next to him. It's Elwell running beside him. Aven was taken aback, but later he just let out his frustration.
"Yeah! You. If I know I will suffer this much, I will not come today"
Elwell can't help but laugh at that response. "How do I know you are this weak. Don't worry, I will support you. Let me be your support partner," said while running beside Aven.
Aven frowning over that answer. He doesn't know whether he's supposed to be thankful or what. They run side by side until they finish the sets. Aven literally collapsed the moment he reached the line. At last, he finished it.
However, it's not finished, of course. There are multiple training more beside that run. And during those trainings, Elwell did focus on becoming an Aven support partner. He was really dedicated to helping Aven go through it that day.
