The wind in Tetsu no Kuni didn't just blow; it searched. It clawed at the heavy, dark fabric of the two traveling cloaks, looking for a gap to bite the skin, but the figures walking through the narrow alley didn't flinch.
They moved with a silent, synchronized rhythm—two shadows gliding over the white snow.
As they neared the main street, the air changed. It wasn't just the cold anymore; it was the smell of fear.
The locals were moving fast, their heads ducked low into their scarves. Shopkeepers were sliding their wooden shutters closed with trembling hands, the sharp clack-clack-clack echoing through the frost.
The two travelers slowed their pace, their hoods pulled so low that their faces were nothing but darkness. One of them, a taller man with a broad build, tilted his head slightly, sensing the tension.
Nearby, a group of travelers was huddled behind a stack of boxes. Their voices were a messy, distorted blur—low whispers that were mostly swallowed by the howling wind.
Underneath his hood, the traveler's visible eye widened. His sharp hearing, sharpened by years of life on the run, caught the fragments of a conversation that the wind tried to hide.
"...the bathhouse... left a mark..." a man's voice, shaking with terror.
"...the red eye... and the white one... they are here..." a woman whispered back, her voice breaking.
"Inside the Crane... they say the Samurai found the crest... the cursed bloodline..."
The traveler's jaw tightened. His expression shifted from cold indifference to a sharp, focused alarm. Beside him, the other man remained calm; he could tell the people were panicking, but the specific words about the eyes and the crest hadn't reached him through the wind.
"They're terrified..." the first traveler whispered, his voice deep and steady—the unmistakable tone of a man used to leading others through a storm.
"The whole street feels like a trap waiting to be sprung. Why are we heading toward the center of the panic? There are a dozen quieter inns in this district."
Every person they passed seemed to shrink away, instinctively feeling a heavy, crushing chakra coming from the two strangers, even if they didn't know why.
"In my memory, this is where the thread started to unroll." the second man replied. His voice was like grinding stones—cool, dry, and tired.
"Ten children, far from home, made a mistake in that building that almost changed the world. I need to know if the past is repeating itself, or if the timeline has finally snapped."
The other man, let out a small, heavy breath that turned into a cloud. "You're checking the records of your own life by walking back into the fire?"
"It's the only map I have left." the first one replied.
They stepped out of the shadows of the alley and stood before a grand, imposing entrance. The building was a fortress of carved cedar and frosted glass.
Above the heavy, iron-reinforced wooden doors hung a swinging sign, creaking in the wind. It depicted a bird frozen in flight—the FROZEN CRANE.
The scent of expensive sandalwood incense and old, dusty parchment seeped through the cracks of the door, clashing with the metallic smell of the snow.
The man reached up, pulling back his hood just enough for the golden light of the streetlamps to hit his face.
His bright, spiky blonde hair shimmered for a second, and his blue eyes scanned the iron doors with the focus of a leader.
Beside him, the second man didn't move his hood. He stood like a statue of black ink, his hand resting invisibly on the hilt of a blade hidden beneath his cloak. He was the shadow to the other's light—the cold moon to the other's sun.
The people cowering in the nearby stalls didn't realize who was standing at the gates of the city's most famous inn.
They didn't know the 'intruders' they were whispering about were being watched over by the very legends they would one day become.
Standing at the threshold of the disaster were the two men who had traveled across time and pain to fix a broken world.
The Sunshine Ghost, Namikaze Minato.
And the Black Devil, Uchiha Sasuke.
To anyone else, it was a sanctuary.
To Sasuke, it was a T-shaped grave he had barely escaped years ago.
The heavy iron-reinforced doors groaned open, and a wave of heat hit them. Inside, the Frozen Crane was a place of activity. A young woman stood behind the heavy wooden counter, looking flustered as she shuffled through stacks of parchment.
The man who usually worked in the morning shift was currently in the village infirmary, recovering from a 'misunderstanding' with a group of genin.
As they stepped onto the polished wood floor, a group of wealthy merchants hurried past them, their voices low and frantic.
"Did you hear?" one whispered, his eyes darting toward the stairs. "They say an Elite has crossed the border... the ' COPY NINJA' from Konoha."
"It's worse than that.." another said, clutching his coat tighter. "The rumors are true. The forbidden eyes of Konoha have been spotted inside this very inn. The red stare and the white sight... they're looking for something."
Minato tilted his head, his curiosity piqued. "A silver-haired ghost? It seems Kakashi's reputation travels faster than the wind."
Before he could finish, Sasuke's hand shot out. With a swift, annoyed flick, he grabbed the edge of Minato's hood and yanked it down so low it nearly hit the blonde man's nose.
"Keep your head down," Sasuke whispered. "Your face is carved into a mountain four nations away. Unless you want every Samurai in Tetsu ni Kuni to ask for your signature, stop looking around."
Minato stumbled slightly, adjusting his now-crooked hood with a muffled laugh. "I appreciate the concern, Sasuke, but I can't see the floor anymore."
"Good..." Sasuke muttered. "Follow me. The hallway we need is this way."
Sasuke turned with total confidence, leading them down a corridor lined with expensive sliding doors. He walked with purpose, his cape swirling behind him—until he hit a solid stone wall.
He stopped. He looked at the wall. Then he looked at the ceiling.
"Dead end." Minato observed cheerfully from behind him. "Is this part of the timeline integrity check? Or has the wall moved since the 'records' were written?"
Sasuke didn't answer. He turned on his heel and marched back the other way. "I meant to check the structural support of that wall. This way."
They turned left, passing a row of steaming vents that filled the air with the scent of minerals. Sasuke pushed open a heavy set of double doors, only to be met with a blast of steam and the sound of giggling voices. A sign above the archway clearly marked the entrance to the WOMEN'S HOT SPRINGS.
Sasuke froze. He stood there for a heartbeat too long, the 'Black Devil' looking completely defeated by a floor plan.
"I didn't realize your memories of this mission involved the public baths," Minato teased, his voice full of amusement. "Should I wait here, or are we 'checking the records' in there too?"
"Shut up!" Sasuke growled, his face reddening as he slammed the doors shut. "The hotel layout is... confusing. The architecture has changed."
"Of course.." Minato smiled. "It definitely isn't because you were twelve years old and terrified the last time you were here."
Sasuke ignored him and took a sharp right, moving deeper into the quiet, secondary wings of the inn. Finally, he stopped at a corner where the shadows were deep.
From just around the bend, the sound of a frantic, high-pitched argument reached them. It was the sound of a boy trying—and failing—to sound like a local.
Sasuke's eyes narrowed. He pressed his back against the wall, his hand going to his blade.
"There.." Sasuke whispered, his voice losing its humor and turning cold. "That's the voice of the boy in the green suit. And if I'm right, the Samurai are exactly three hallways away from cutting off their only exit."
At the edge of the corridor, the two hidden legends stood perfectly still. From their position in the shadows, they could see the lobby had turned into a circus of confusion.
A thick crowd of guests and travelers had gathered in a circle, and in the center of the ring, the younger group was in the middle of a disaster.
Standing there were three twelve-year-old boys: a boy in a green jumpsuit, a boy with long hair and dark glasses, and a dark-haired boy who looked exactly like a miniature version of the man hiding in the shadows.
"Make way! Blind man coming through!" Young Sasuke's voice rang out. He sounded fake and annoyed, desperately trying to shove people aside to create an escape path for his friends.
In the centre of the crowd, Lee stood like a statue of green spandex, looking completely lost.
"Look at his hair!" a girl in the crowd giggled, pointing a finger. "And those clothes... nobody in Tetsu no Kuni wears a green jumpsuit. He looks like a giant vegetable!"
"He's an intruder!" a man shouted, his voice getting louder. "He doesn't have the manners of a local. Look at how he stands! He's too... energetic!"
From the shadows, the Adult Sasuke's eye twitched in perfect synchronization with his younger self. Beside him, Minato had to press a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing out loud.
Young Sasuke and Neji stared at each other, their faces turning a ghostly shade of pale.
'This idiot,' the twelve-year-old Sasuke thought, his soul practically leaving his body.
Lee, feeling the heat of a dozen suspicious eyes, puffed out his chest and raised a finger to the ceiling.
"You are mistaken! I am a proud citizen of Tetsu no Kuni! I love the snow! I love the cold! It builds the muscles of youth!"
The silence that followed was heavy enough to crush a building. Young Sasuke realized they had to move—right now—before the Samurai arrived to investigate the noise. Still gripping Neji's hand, the young Uchiha stepped forward.
"Wait!" he called out, trying to sound calm.
At that exact heartbeat, both Lee and Young Sasuke shouted at the top of their lungs.
"I AM A CITIZEN OF TETSU NO KUNI!" Lee shouted.
"WE ARE ALL FELLOW TRAVELERS!" Young Sasuke screamed.
The crowd went dead silent. Heads snapped back and forth between the 'vegetable' and the 'blind' boy.
"Wait a minute," a man said, narrowing his eyes as he stepped closer. "The green boy says he lives here, but the black one says they are all traveling together. Which is it? Are you liars?"
Neji's face turned a violent shade of red. The pressure finally snapped his patience. Without missing a beat, he reached out and WHACKED Lee across the back of the head with a resounding THWACK.
"OW!" Lee yelled, clutching his head. "What was that for?!"
"Tell them the truth, you fool!" Neji hissed through his teeth, his voice trembling with rage.
Lee's eyes went wide as he realized he had just destroyed their cover. He turned back to the suspicious crowd, sweat pouring down his face like a waterfall.
"What? I am a traveler! Are you people deaf? Did you not hear me?" Lee scrambled, his voice going up.
"I said I love traveling in Tetsu no Kuni! Yes! Traveling! My favorite hobby!"
The crowd began to grumble, the air turning sour with suspicion. In the middle of the shoving match, a traveler bumped hard into Neji. The impact sent his dark glasses flying into the air.
"My glasses!" Neji whispered in a panic. He slammed his eyes shut instantly, his heart hammering against his ribs. If he opened them now, the whole world would see the white veins of the Byakugan.
Outside the circle, standing in the safe darkness of the hallway, Minato leaned toward the older Sasuke.
"Aren't you going to go in there?" Minato whispered, his shoulders shaking with suppressed mirth. "Your younger self looks like he's about to faint, and Lee is currently labelled as a 'traveling vegetable.' "
Adult Sasuke leaned his head back against the cold stone wall, closing his eyes for a second. He looked like a man who had lived through this nightmare once and was exhausted just watching it happen again.
"No," older Sasuke muttered, a tiny, rare smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth. "I remember this. It was the longest ten minutes of my life."
"It's certainly... educational." Minato teased.
"Just wait," Older Sasuke whispered, his expression sharpening as he looked toward the far entrance. "The comedy is over. The Samurai just entered the lobby. This is where it becomes a grave."
In the center of the lobby, the air finally snapped. Young Sasuke finally realised he couldn't hold on much longer. His instincts took over.
He grabbed Neji's hand in a death grip. Neji, with his eyes still squeezed shut to hide his Byakugan, reached out blindly and grabbed a handful of the back of Lee's green jumpsuit.
"RUN!!!" Young Sasuke commanded.
It was a chain of chaos. The twelve-year-old Sasuke pulled Neji, and Neji pulled a screaming Lee, who was flapping his arms like a panicked bird.
They burst through the crowd like a runaway train, knocking over luggage and leaving a trail of confused merchants in their wake.
In the shadows of the corner, Minato was distracted. He had turned his head to look at a decorative suit of armor, wondering if the craftsmanship was as good as the rumors said.
"Sasuke, look at the detail on that breastplate—"
Suddenly, Adult Sasuke saw his younger self run. Without a word, he reached out, grabbed Minato by the collar of his cloak, and yanked him forward to keep pace with the kids.
"MOVE!!!" Sasuke shouted.
Minato, completely off-guard and stumbling over his own feet as he was dragged, let out a startled yelp.
"SASUKE!!!"
The name echoed through the high-ceilinged hallway.
Ten meters ahead, the young Sasuke skidded to a halt. His heart nearly stopped. Someone had just shouted his name—loudly. He spun around in horror, his hand going to his kunai pouch. Who knew he was here?
But when he looked back, he only saw two tall men in heavy cloaks standing perfectly still near a pillar, their faces hidden. They looked like two bored travelers waiting for their room keys.
Young Sasuke blinked, confused. 'Must have been the wind,' he thought. He didn't have time to think. He turned back around and continued his desperate sprint, dragging Neji and Lee behind him.
The moment the kids turned the corner, the Adult Sasuke took off again, dragging Minato with him.
"What was that?!" Sasuke growled, his voice a low, furious whisper as they sprinted through the secondary hallway. "You almost blew the entire mission! Why did you scream my name?"
"You nearly pulled my head off!" Minato whispered back, trying to regain his balance while running.
"And besides, why are we even chasing them? I thought we were here for the records, not to shadow a group of genin."
"I told you," Sasuke replied, his eyes scanning the walls. "I need to see a specific event. If this timeline is correct, they are about to make a turn that leads them straight into a dead end—and we need to be the ones who clear the path before the iron closes around them."
They rounded a corner, but Sasuke suddenly slammed his hand against Minato's chest, forcing them both into a dark corner.
Up ahead, the heavy clomp-clomp-clomp of iron boots filled the corridor. A squad of five Samurai, their katanas drawn and their masks gleaming in the dim light, were marching toward them.
They were scanning every doorway, looking for the 'Konoha intruders' the crowd had been whispering about.
"Change of plans," Sasuke muttered, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword. "The main route is crawling with them. We have to take the servant's passage. Let's go!"

A MESSAGE TO THE READERS 📢
✨ AUTHOR'S NOTE ✨
OK OK OK 😭😭😭
First of all—
CAN WE PLEASE TALK ABOUT WHAT AN ENTRY THIS CHAPTER WAS??? 😭🔥
"The Black Devil."
"The Sunshine Ghost."
Frozen streets.
Terrified civilians.
Timeline trauma.
And then—
💥Sasuke immediately walking into a wall.💥
Absolute cinema 🎬
But seriously 😌✨
Did you guys notice the tiny hidden details scattered throughout the chapter?? 👀🕵️
Because the commoners of Tetsu no Kuni were NOT just randomly talking nonsense 😭
Go back and read those little whisper lines carefully again 🔍
DETECTIVE MODE ACTIVATED 🕵️♂️✨
🔎 "The red eye" = Sasuke
🔎 "The white one" = Neji
AND to be more precise 😌☝️
The "first traveler" mentioned in the beginning was actually Minato himself ✨☀️
Though most of you probably already caught that—
but this explanation is for the poor souls still buffering in 144p 😭
ALSOOOOOO 👀
Please pay attention to THIS line:
«"Ten children, far from home, made a mistake in that building that almost changed the world. I need to know if the past is repeating itself, or if the timeline has finally snapped."»
THIS LINE IS IMPORTANT 🗿
Older Sasuke is basically checking whether the events HE went through years ago are still part of history after the timeline changes.
In simpler words:
💀 "Did our disaster already happen?"
OR
💀 "Did time finally break?"
Because remember—
this entire arc is literally older Sasuke walking through his own trauma like:
🚶♂️ "Ah yes. My worst memories. Let me revisit them peacefully."
Absolutely mentally stable behavior 😭
AND YESSSSSS 😭✨
We are finally back to witness:
❄️ THE T-SHAPED TRAP ❄️
But this time…
through DIFFERENT EYES 👁️👁️
Now another tiny detail some of you may have missed 😌☝️
The chapter mentioned:
"The man who usually worked the morning shift was currently in the village infirmary."
YES 😭
THAT is the SAME clerk Sasuke hit with:
✨THE UCHIHA STARE OF ABSOLUTE POVERTY✨
Bro got financially traumatized through eye contact 💀
ALSO YES I KNOW 😭😭😭
I keep mentioning Kakashi.
I CAN'T HELP IT 🤭
The man appears in one rumor and suddenly my writer brain goes:
✨COPY NINJA DETECTED✨
And for those wondering how Minato and older Sasuke instantly figured out the "silver-haired ghost" was Kakashi:
🔎 "Copy Ninja" mention = biggest clue
🔎 Older Sasuke's memories = second clue
🔎 Anddddddd…
There might be an encounter later 👀
Oops—
tiny spoiler 🤏✨
But don't worry.
Small spoilers are healthy.
They destroy sleep schedules and create curiosity 😌
The REAL information is still:
✨ C L A S S I F I E D ✨
Now let us discuss the TRUE disaster of this chapter 😭
NOT the Samurai.
NOT the timeline.
BUT LEE 😭😭😭
This man was supposed to quietly blend in.
Instead he became:
🥬 THE TRAVELING VEGETABLE OF TETSU NO KUNI 🥬
And the way he kept switching between:
"I AM A CITIZEN 😤"
and
"I LOVE TRAVELING 😭"
Meanwhile Neji was spiritually leaving his body 💀
AND THEN MINATO 😭😭😭
MY MAN SCREAMED:
"SASUKE!!!"
with his entire soul ☀️
But the funniest part is younger Sasuke turning around like:
👁️👄👁️
"WHO KNOWS MY NAME???"
Only to see two grown men standing there awkwardly like:
🧍♂️🧍♂️
"Yes hello we are definitely normal travelers waiting for room keys."
I'M SORRY BUT THAT IMAGE IS SO EMBARRASSING 😭😭😭
And meanwhile adult Sasuke is out here trying to look like an ancient legendary terror while:
❌ getting lost in hallways
❌ walking into walls
❌ entering the women's bath accidentally
❌ dragging Minato around by the collar like lost luggage
Truly the peak aura experience 🔥
BUT underneath all the chaos and comedy…
This chapter actually reveals something very important about older Sasuke.
His real motive.
He KNOWS he shouldn't interfere too much.
He KNOWS changing things is dangerous.
And yet…
he still helps them.
Because despite everything—
despite all the darkness and trauma—
Sasuke cannot ignore children in danger.
Especially when those children are his younger self and the people he once suffered beside.
Adults protect children first.
And that…
is exactly what Sasuke is doing here 🖤
ANYWAY 😭✨
PLEASE READ THE NEXT CHAPTER WHEN IT DROPS.
I know it isn't published yet BUT TRUST ME
IT IS EVEN MORE GOATED THAN THIS ONE 😭🔥
Like genuinely.
The next chapter said:
"Oh you enjoyed the comedy?"
💀 "Now take emotional damage."
Till then…
survive on the teaser 😌✨
See you in the next chapter 💫
