Chapter 613, Taking Control
Crack~!
A crisp sound of bones grinding echoed.
The burly man sitting on the sofa—
His neck suddenly twisted at an unnatural angle, eyes wide open, the pistol falling to the ground.
His body slumped onto the sofa.
The suited man looked horrified. Everything that happened was far too bizarre.
Chairman Cui was actually dead—just like that.
He turned to run but found himself frozen in place, as if his legs no longer obeyed.
"Stay put. You don't want to die like this, do you?" Wu Heng said.
The suited man stumbled back and sat down next to the corpse.
"Kondra, we're friends!"
"You were his translator?" Wu Heng asked.
"Secretary!"
"What's your name?"
The suited man's eyes widened. "You're not Kondra."
"Answer the question," Wu Heng stared at him.
"Liu Minlong."
Wu Heng looked him in the eye and said seriously, "I'm taking his place. Give me a plan. If it works, you live. If it fails, you go down and continue being his secretary."
"The base troops all have guns. They won't listen to me."
Wu Heng snapped his fingers.
Liu Minlong's neck started to twist backward under immense force.
"I have a way! I have a way!" Liu Minlong cried out in terror.
"Let's hear it."
Liu Minlong quickly said, "There are four squads in the base—two defend the land entrance, one handles internal security, and one guards the port. They're loyal to the chairman. Replace them first, then think about controlling the army."
"How many in the army?"
"Just over fifty."
Wu Heng nodded and cast [Speak with Dead] on the corpse. The freshly dead body sat up.
Its head still twisted backward, but the eyes strained to look at Wu Heng.
Liu Minlong trembled in fear, unable to move.
What was going on today?
It was like seeing ghosts.
Wu Heng asked the corpse, "How many squads do you have?"
"Five squads."
Wu Heng glanced at the suited man.
Just as the man was about to explain, Wu Heng continued, "Which five squads?"
"Four defense squads, and one is my personal guard."
"I want to take your place. Any advice?" Wu Heng asked directly.
The corpse replied, "Kill the squad leaders. They're all my trusted men."
Chairman Cui's answer was blunt.
Kill them all—simple and effective.
Wu Heng asked again, "Where did the rifles come from?"
"There's a docked warship with weapons."
"Who can pilot the warship?"
"Team Three—the ones guarding the port—some of them are former navy."
After five questions, the corpse lay back down.
Liu Minlong in his suit trembled and hurriedly explained, "The guard team has only eight people. They rotate shifts guarding the hotel doors—it's not a real squad. Spare me, please..."
"Team Three can operate the warship?"
"Yes, they also control the other ships here," Liu Minlong answered quickly.
Wu Heng pondered, then said, "Call in the two guards at the door."
Liu Minlong, still controlled, walked to the door. He hesitated, then said, "Guards, come throw the trash out."
The door opened.
Two guards entered.
One glance, and they saw the chairman's corpse.
Kashu blurred into a shadow, appearing before them and throwing two punches.
Necks broken, their heads slumped forward.
With two thuds, their bodies hit the floor.
Kashu dragged them and dumped them beside the chairman's corpse.
Wu Heng continued, "Call all the squad leaders. Tell them the chairman is holding a meeting."
"Okay, I'll do it now."
"Use the radio."
"Yes, yes."
Liu Minlong picked up the radio and relayed the message.
He told them to come to the hotel for a meeting and introduced it as the announcement of the fifth squad's new leader.
...
Not long after—
The door knocked. A man in a leather jacket walked in.
"Uncle, where are your guards? Off slacking again?"
Liu Minlong said, "Squad One leader."
"Kill him."
Kashu stepped forward and punched him in the chest.
The man fell backward.
As he died—
The leaders of Squads Two, Three, and Four also entered.
Kashu, waiting at the door, killed them one by one.
...
Liu Minlong stared wide-eyed.
They really killed them all.
Not a single one left alive.
And this fully covered person—who the hell was he? He killed each with a single punch.
No one took a second punch to die.
Wu Heng nudged the corpses.
Without converting them yet, he said, "Let's go. To the port."
The phantom released Liu Minlong.
He obediently followed, and they left the hotel, returning to the port by car.
Compared to earlier—
Liu Minlong said nothing the whole way.
Only the driver mumbled a few words before sensing the tension and going silent.
At the port—
Wu Heng said to Liu Minlong, "Call all the port soldiers here."
Liu Minlong shouted.
The port guards and nearby people all gathered.
They stood in formation, awaiting orders.
Wu Heng stood on a platform, holding his spinal staff. "Everyone, look into my eyes."
The crowd looked up.
"Sleep!"
Thud~!
Everyone collapsed, even Liu Minlong fell.
Wu Heng took out a portable radio and adjusted the frequency. "Qian Chengfeng!"
"Here. All good on this end," Qi Hancai responded.
Familiar voices—they knew exactly who it was.
"Bring the ship in. Dock and land."
"Got it!"
In the distance, the cargo ship neared and slowly docked at the port.
Qi Hancai and Xin He disembarked. Qian Chengfeng was escorted off by two skeletons.
Then a flood of skeletons surged up.
The port was packed with them.
Wu Heng took off the mask and stored it in his space ring.
Qi Hancai walked over. "Qian Chengfeng tried to escape on a speedboat. The skeletons caught him easily."
"We'll deal with him later," Wu Heng said. He looked at the skeletons that had landed. "Tie up all these people."
The skeletons moved in and restrained all the unconscious guards.
Once that was handled—
Wu Heng unfolded a suggested map of the port. "Qi Hancai, take Xin He to the hotel with the green flag at the entrance. Find the radio and announce our occupation. Tell them if they lay down their arms, they won't be harmed. I'll take the skeletons and subdue the remaining squads."
"Alright!" Qi Hancai nodded.
"Move quickly. Get it done before dark," Wu Heng reminded.
The skeletons split into two groups—
They dispersed rapidly, closing in on their targets.
In a car at a street corner, the waiting driver watched skeletons pass by.
He curled up in his seat, face filled with terror.
