The monster was attacked and had to give up its plan of continuing the chase, switching its target to Eva instead.
Eva's Longsword was a Dark Spiritual Artifact; even though the other side was a pure energy body monster, it could still inflict a certain amount of damage.
But unfortunately, precisely because the opponent was a pure energy body monster, the Longsword's attack wasn't very effective. After slightly slowing it down, the blade went straight through its body, and most of the physical attribute damage was ignored.
