Chapter 192 - Chapter 188. Leviathan

Captain America swiftly and efficiently dispatched the two Chitauri soldiers, then turned to the police captain.

The captain swallowed hard, then, assuming a serious expression, issued orders to his subordinates: "Send officers into the buildings. Have them evacuate civilians to the basements and tell them to stay off the streets." He then pressed the button on his shoulder radio and added, "Secure the area up to 39th Street."

Seeing his orders being carried out, the Captain moved on to assist other people in need.

Meanwhile, Hawkeye helped evacuate children from the school bus. The door was blocked by a wrecked car, trapping the passengers inside. He broke a bus window and, together with the driver and teacher, began pulling the children out one by one.

"Run now and stay off the streets! The police will lead you to safety," he instructed once all the passengers were evacuated. Pointing towards where Captain America was, he directed them towards the police officers.

The driver and teacher nodded and ran, leading the children away. At that moment, Black Widow joined Hawkeye, firing at passing Chitauri soldiers. Despite the efforts of Iron Man, Thor, and Nick Fury's team, the portal in the sky continued to expand, and waves of alien invaders kept pouring onto Earth. Some of them managed to break through the two lines of defense and penetrate the city, wreaking havoc in their path.

"If we don't close that portal, we won't last long," Widow said, watching as more and more Chitauri soldiers swarmed the city. If the portal remained open, the city would inevitably fall, and their efforts would be in vain.

"Yeah, and how are you planning to do that? Turn it off?" Hawkeye replied, drawing his bowstring. His arrows accurately struck the Chitauri chariots, causing them to explode.

Widow was about to reply when their radio crackled to life.

"Don't worry about the portal; Noah's already on it," a voice familiar to both of them echoed. It was Tony Stark.

They knew how powerful Noah was, and Tony's words instilled confidence in them.

However, as soon as he finished speaking, a loud explosion rocked Stark Tower, attracting the attention of everyone on the battlefield, even Thor and Tony in the sky. But the tower didn't collapse after the explosion, and no one knew what happened inside.

"Are you sure everything's under control?" Hawkeye asked over the comms.

"Uh... let's trust him," Tony replied hesitantly. But his words were interrupted by a new sound coming from the portal.

A loud roar echoed from the sky, and a massive, semi-mechanical, whale-like creature emerged from the portal, its giant metal fins propelling it towards the city. It was a Leviathan, a strategic weapon of the Chitauri army.

"What the hell is that? It's huge, and it flies?!" Tony exclaimed, watching the gigantic creature. Upon closer observation, he realized the beast was equipped with an anti-gravity mechanism, allowing it to hover in the air like a cosmic whale.

People on the ground noticed the appearance of the gigantic creature and felt a surge of fear. This new monster clearly surpassed the previous enemies they had faced. However, before Tony could engage it, someone else decided to act.

Thor, who was in the sky wielding Mjolnir and battling Chitauri soldiers, noticed the Leviathan. He landed on the rooftop of a high-rise building, raised his hammer towards the sky, and storm clouds gathered above him. Lightning bolts began to arc towards Mjolnir, their energy so powerful that even the floor around Thor cracked.

When the charge reached its peak, he aimed his hammer at the gigantic beast and, with a shout, unleashed a powerful bolt of lightning. Along the way, the lightning destroyed Chitauri chariots, which exploded upon contact.

The lightning struck the Leviathan's massive body, causing it to emit a pained roar. The creature began to writhe in the air, its body melting under the intense heat, sparks erupting from within. Finally, the gigantic beast broke apart and crashed to the ground.

Thor, breathing heavily, lowered his hammer. At that moment, Tony flew up to him and said, "Nice work, worthy of the God of Thunder."

Tony hovered beside him, and Thor finally noticed his new armor.

"Um... Your armor looks familiar," Thor said, squinting. It seemed to resemble his father's Destroyer armor.

"That's because I made it from the remnants of the armor you guys smashed recently. You don't need it anymore, right?" Tony asked, wanting to clarify to avoid any misunderstandings.

"Father didn't send me to Earth to retrieve the Destroyer, so he probably doesn't care," Thor replied, reassuring Tony.

Their brief conversation was interrupted by a new attack. Before they could take flight and engage the remaining Chitauri forces, a blue energy blast was fired in their direction, exploding between them.

"What the—?!" Tony exclaimed as he was thrown back by the explosion. He tumbled through the air several times before stabilizing his armor, while Thor crashed into the side of a building.

"Who dares attack me!" Thor shouted, getting up and brushing dust off himself. The energy attack was powerful enough to put him on guard.

"Haha, Asgardian," a voice echoed from a Chitauri chariot. However, besides the Chitauri pilot, there were two other beings on board, their appearances completely different from the rest of the army.

"It's them! Those two stole the Tesseract!" Tony exclaimed, recognizing them from the data provided by Nick Fury. These were the two who emerged from the portal and stole the cosmic artifact.

Before them stood Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight.
