With time and the progress of aesthetics and technology, Nuowu evolved into Nuoxi, which has a storyline.
The gods worshipped in Nuoxi also changed from abstract earth and sky gods to deities from Buddhism, Taoism, and various folk beliefs.
Yet, regardless of how it evolves, the mask remains an indispensable part of Nuoxi.
It is the bridge for communication between people and gods, and the key medium for the Nuoshi to wield their mana.
