"Indeed. Although this deal is a bit risky, the reward is quite substantial. Once we sell this woman, we can make a hefty profit."
Upon hearing this, Ling Rong couldn't help but feel frightened.
It seemed that these people were acting on someone's orders, deliberately capturing her with the intent to sell her.
Who could be the one instructing them?
"Second brother, go see if she's awake," suddenly, the leader said.
Ling Rong quickly closed her eyes, pretending to be unconscious.
She felt the curtain of the carriage being opened and then dropped back down.
"Not awake yet," the second brother replied.
Once she was sure they weren't paying attention to her anymore, Ling Rong cautiously opened her eyes and began to survey the carriage.
There was a window at the back of the carriage, and her petite frame could just fit through it.
Ling Rong decided to jump from the carriage; she certainly didn't want to wait around for them to sell her.
