Phoenix, the king of birds in ancient Chinese legends, is known for its beautiful feathers. The male is called Feng, and the female Huang, collectively referred to as Phoenix, often used to symbolize auspiciousness. Phoenix and dragon are both Han Clan's totems. Also known as the Red Bird, Fire Bird, Kunji, Wei Feng, etc., it is popular among the people but is just a legend. Like the dragon, no one has ever seen one; people are utterly curious whether what they see is a phoenix.
"Look, the phoenix has a chicken's head, a swallow's jaw, serpent-like neck, turtle's back, fish's tail, multicolored; standing about six feet tall. These chickens mostly match the special features; the only difference being their height of around three feet, a scaled-down version of a phoenix. These might not be real phoenixes but could have a certain blood relation with the legendary phoenix, perhaps close species, or maybe mutated phoenixes," Cao Xi quickly explained.
