Morning came as Din woke up, his head ringing as dizziness washed over him. He had forgotten that he was no longer a Rank 1 being, nor even a weak martial warrior. All his power was gone.
Yet even in that state, he never hesitated. The little food he had with him was given to the surviving elderly, while the children received whatever remained.
Din stood up, his body weak and his vision blurry.
Although he truly wanted to stay and help as much as he could, he knew that remaining here would only endanger these people. That was something he simply couldn't risk.
So he had to keep moving.
The sun finally appeared after three days of crimson clouds covering the sky. However, its rays no longer carried warmth. Instead, they burned like blazing fire, making one's skin feel as though it were peeling away.
At first, people rejoiced.
But their joy quickly turned into fear and curses.
