Evan had her claws out, inches away from Yen's neck.
Looking back at the chief's body that lay on the ground, one could see the blood bubbling like acid. Even the broken lever braced on his neck had already melted from the corrosiveness of the blood.
'Looks like his ability,' she thought, turning her attention back to the young man choking in her clutches.
"Where are my friends?" she asked, tightening her grasp.
"Ke-kech..." Yen was unable to speak clearly, so she let go of him.
"Cough! Cough! Cough! How do you expect me to talk when I'm being strangled? Cough!"
"Talk," she shouted, her patience running thin.
"You know, every shadow hunter is blessed with this unique ability that runs through our blood. Outsiders may think we're weak just because our group is actually made up of scientists," Yen mumbled on.
Evan was baffled. For one, she was about to end this idiot's life, and here he was, babbling some nonsense that didn't really concern her.
