Incomplete prologue

Author: You may not understand everything yet, but I hope you'll still enjoy what comes next. This is from a manuscript section I was able to save after I almost erased everything during some of the toughest moments of my life due to self-sabotage. It's from around Chapter 20, and I'm building toward a plot twist in Volume Two, where I'll explain what happened during the lost twenty chapters. I will finish what I start, and I won't do it with half-assed effort.

[2ND POV INITIALIZED]

Before you was a mysterious, unsettling man wearing a black veil, a robe, and a top hat—faintly shimmering with the light of innumerable stars, as if he contained the entire universe.

You sat on an empty expanse filled with stars and auroras. Slowly, you opened your eyes.

[Ahh, little spark.] He smiled, curiosity bright in his voice. [You must have a lot of questions now… but we don't have much time—even in this realm. Still…] He chuckled lightly, the joke almost gentle. [I'll briefly explain what happens.]

His voice echoed endlessly into the vast nothing, reverberating off the edge of reality until you swear it was the stars speaking with him.

[After you survived, but your essence was shattered,] he said calmly, [You surely lost the understanding of your truest self [?], but you shall rediscover it in time. Know this: as the loop begins again, you cannot simply endure it—you must embrace all aspect of yourself and believe that you are the miracle.]

Then, his voice changed to a melodic, sing-song voice that vibrated in your very being: [Love is the remedy, but who can heal love in a world without love and hope?] He let out a sigh so immense it sounded like the machinery of the cosmos ground to a halt, and in the oppressive stillness, his last words resonated: [Stories might fade in the cold, black expanse, but you are the untamed fire that rivaled even the burning fury of a billion stars. The dream does not disappear; it merely awaits for a spirit strong enough to once again carry the weight of the dawn of the new story.]

His voice fading into a distance. [Do not go gentle into that good night.]

And your eyes slowly shut as a sweet, heavy slumber embraced you, like the closing of one world and the slow awakening of another—like the end and beginning happening all at once.

[Divine system: Restart the memory of [?]

Your avatar is Einsamer Stern.

Brief Synopsis: After causing genuine deaths, the virtual reality game TWOD (The World Of Dawn) was temporarily shut down in SE (Space Era) 20. Your avatar made it through the Demon Lord battle inside the Tower of Eternia while the indestructible tower known as the indestructible object inside the game was torn to millions of pieces. However, you are unable to recall anything clearly as an observer because your essence memory was obliterated after the previous ending of the story.

But in this save point, your avatar does, and you will progressively learn everything until you unite your fragmented soul with him to begin a new loop.]

[Divine system: As an observer, you are unable to control your avatar's actions. Remember, everything you see in this story has already been written and could not be changed. Attempting to rewrite the story might result in a worse disaster.

Mental state: Normal]

[Divine system: Your avatar's mental state is still reeling from what happened to him—he had just woken from virtual reality and immediately gone to school. But the news of what occurred in the virtual reality spread across Tellus in an instant.]

Brief history of Tellus]

[Divine System: Tellus was a planet with an atmosphere nearly erased by a previous great global war between humanity and androids that ended with the first android to give birth to humanity, known as the All-Mother. Now, most of humanity lived in space. But the few billion people still clinging to Tellus lived inside a sector called the Dome. Within it stood a single city protected by a holographic shield—holding back the planet's poisoned, healing atmosphere from the biochemically engineered mass-murder weapon known as Thanatos launched by the android.

After the end of the Yaturain Era (YT), domes were constructed across Tellus following the human-android peace treaty that spared the last remaining millions of humanity to strive above the horror of the past.

Now, in the era in which your avatar lives, there were over one hundred domes and sectors across the planet within the four continent, each carving out a fragile pocket of safety—one of the smallest covering 676.2 km2.

The most prominent—and the first—sector ever constructed was known as Citadel built above the home of the android known as Sanctuary, built in 2060 YT by a masked scientist known as Genie, cooperating with the UNITED Council of Androids. It was constructed 20 years before the start of the SPACE ERA.

From 2060 YT to SE 20, the Sector 1 was ruled by an elite—prominent families whose influence controlled Tellus's major military and wealth.

Between 2060 YT and 2080 YT, Tellus survived two galactic wars. In the first, it was shattered by a terrorist attack orchestrated by the Dogma of Yallareon under the prophet of Goddess Yallareon, who seized control for two years before the scientist Genie rallied allies from other sectors, fought back, and won independence.

Then came the second galactic war. In its wake, Genie launched a conquest in the name of restoring humanity's pride—claiming their original planet as the sole and rightful home of humankind, therefore deserving to rule over all of humanity's sub-species on other planets. He succeeded. Now, other planets and the federations of humanity live under the law of a world government forged by Genie.]

[Then come the birth of your insignificant character, Einsamer Stern, born in SE 3, parentless and powerless. An abomination and anomaly.]

[Divine System is chuckling.]

[Divine System: But this is not the story of a prophecy-chosen one; who you are is beyond this cliché type of story.]
