She moved through a corridor of flickering light and horrific screams—both those of survivors and the artificial voices that only intensified the chaos and horror around her. She held Oliver's hand tightly. There were three passages. One displayed a red sign pointed toward them.
After what the twist and turn of the green light had led her to—more danger—she decided to follow the red sign this time. The corridor was lined with horror-movie posters, torn and shredded, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary… not yet.
But when she pushed into a wider area—one with a ceiling soaring more than fifty meters—she saw an eerie town: abandoned medieval houses, their windows dark, and a paved road running through the wreckage. Yet the relentless flashing and flickering red light made everything around her look like it was burning.
