Thorn sat up with a start, suddenly remembering what he had forgotten to do.
He turned to Elora, who was lying beside him. "I forgot to investigate the school."
Elora sat up slightly, her eyes heavy with sleep, before dragging Thorn back onto the bed.
She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close, holding him so firmly that Thorn couldn't struggle free.
"Nothing will happen. Yawn... I've already dealt with those nobles," Elora whispered into his ear as she snuggled closer, resting her face against the nape of his neck.
She was about to fall asleep again when a flying paper crane suddenly appeared in front of them.
Elora groaned and released Thorn. She straightened up as the crane transformed into a scroll and fell into her lap.
Now free, Thorn glanced at the scroll curiously.
Elora picked it up and unfolded it perfunctorily. She made no attempt to hide its contents from him, but as soon as she read the message, her expression turned serious.
