Chapter 669 - Chapter 671: Thoughts and Discoveries

Soon, the two arrived at Uchiha Fugaku's residence.

Unlike the small, secluded courtyard left to him by his parents, Uchiha Fugaku's place was much more luxurious. As the head of the Uchiha clan, his home was located in the most prosperous area of the clan's territory and occupied a vast area.

Inside, there were pavilions, artificial mountains, and flowing water, all elegantly designed.

They walked for several minutes, crossing a small pond, before finally arriving at the guest room.

A Uchiha clansman approached them and led them inside.

The vice-captain of the Konoha Police Force gave a brief instruction to Qingming before leaving.

Once he departed, the Uchiha clansman offered Qingming a cup of tea and informed him that Uchiha Fugaku had some matters to attend to and would be delayed in coming to see him. He asked Qingming to wait for a while.

Qingming nodded in acknowledgment.

However, he expected that Uchiha Fugaku would be with him in a few minutes at most, but to his surprise, after three cups of tea, Fugaku still hadn't arrived.

Looking at the Uchiha servant who was refilling his cup for the fourth time, Qingming directly asked, "How much longer will the clan leader be?"

The servant responded as before, saying that Uchiha Fugaku was still busy and asked him to wait a little longer.

Qingming stared at the servant, and his expression gradually turned dangerous, as if his eyes were about to shift into the Sharingan.

Despite the pressure, the servant, who had no ninja qualifications, remained composed and completed his task without faltering. After serving the tea, he returned to his position, silently standing like a statue.

Qingming looked at the servant and thought to himself, A show of power?

To have called him over and yet keep him waiting so long, was this not an attempt to assert dominance?

However, after a moment of reflection, he realized it didn't quite seem like that—at least not entirely.

With his memories from his past life, Qingming had some understanding of Uchiha Fugaku.

To put it positively, Fugaku could be described as indecisive; negatively, he was overly influenced by others, easily swayed.

For example, after the Nine-Tails' attack, in order to preserve what he called the "big picture," he followed the village's orders to move the Uchiha clan from the center of the village to a remote corner.

This decision created a physical division between the Uchiha clan and the village, greatly escalating tensions between the two.

Later, as tensions deepened after the move, the Uchiha clan felt the pressure and began petitioning Fugaku for a coup.

As a high-ranking official in Konoha, Fugaku knew the coup had little chance of success, but still agreed to the petition.

Though the petition was framed as a request, it was, in fact, more like collective pressure.

Fugaku's susceptibility to this pressure highlighted his indecisiveness.

If he had decided on the coup, he should have kept it a secret, acted suddenly, and not let it become common knowledge as he did. It was almost laughable how obvious he made it.

Additionally, his judgment of people was often flawed, or rather, he was too easily swayed by personal emotions.

During the entire coup process, Fugaku showed an excessive amount of trust in his son, a trust that, in hindsight, contributed to the Uchiha clan's downfall.

Had it not been for Uchiha Itachi, even if the coup failed, the entire Uchiha clan wouldn't have been annihilated.

At the very least, the ordinary clansmen would not have been wiped out.

Whether out of concern for appearances or other clan interests, the village would not have killed them all off. They would have been placed under strict surveillance, and over time, they might have been assimilated into the village, much like the Senju clan.

What about Sasuke, you ask?

Not to mention the sheer madness and selfishness of preserving just one brother's life at the cost of the entire clan's annihilation, but Sasuke's survival was more likely a means for the village to control Uchiha Itachi.

In his previous life, when Qingming watched the manga and movies, he admired Uchiha Itachi's sacrifices for his younger brother. He would even shout, "Itachi-sama!"

However, after being thrust into this world as a member of the Uchiha clan, his views on Itachi had completely changed.

Had the two timelines been connected, Qingming would have dealt with Itachi as soon as he returned to the village.

Even so, upon discovering the "Genjutsu: Dark Path Technique"—a genjutsu that countered the Sharingan—he had immediately learned it.

Clearly, even now, Qingming did not trust this rebellious figure.

With all these thoughts running through his mind, Qingming could now be certain that Uchiha Fugaku was not simply trying to intimidate him by making him wait.

There could only be one other possibility.

Perhaps Fugaku was currently investigating the rumor that had spread through the village this morning, about the elder advisor Danzo being killed and the murderer being one of their own.

Only by gathering enough information would Fugaku be able to control the situation when they finally met.

This was the instinct of a clan leader.

Having considered this, Qingming decided not to waste any more time. Instead, he began to practice openly.

However, he did not rush into practicing the "Reflecting Heart Technique" immediately.

Although the "Reflecting Heart Technique" he was practicing now was vastly different from the version developed by the ancestors of the Uchiha clan, it still had its roots in their technique.

If Fugaku had studied the original, he might notice something unusual.

The possibility of that happening was slim, though.

After all, both Fugaku and his son had excellent potential and did not need to concern themselves with such a "last-resort" technique.

Still, Qingming wasn't willing to take any chances. He didn't want to reveal his ability to mass-produce Mangekyo Sharingan before he was truly invincible.

Moreover, he was not alone in the vicinity. Hidden among the shadows were several other Uchiha ninjas, and their potential was nowhere near as high as Fugaku's.

There was a possibility that, like his parents before him, they might have studied the "Reflecting Heart Technique" long ago.

To be safe, Qingming chose to practice the "Heavenly Palm Technique" to strengthen his body instead.

During this process, he referred to the content from a book he had seen earlier, adjusting the yang chakra he was inputting into his body to explore more efficient methods.

It seemed that his proficiency in the "Heavenly Palm Technique," combined with the "Human's Might" ability—the ability to control the body—was enhancing his progress at a rapid pace.

At this rate, he would be on the verge of a breakthrough in just three or four days, rather than the five or six days he had anticipated.

Qingming felt a surge of joy and poured more energy into his training.

As time passed, outside, Konoha's undercurrents continued to swirl, while Qingming remained calm and steady.

Unknowingly, more than two hours passed, and it was now late into the night.
