Michael was starting to feel that perhaps going to a clothing store first would have been better. It wasn't that he hadn't thought of it, but he had figured that in an era where anyone could wear literally anything, a woman in ordinary clothes wouldn't catch much attention.
This much was true. Unfortunately, the person working in the store just happened to be someone who liked this kind of thing, or rather seemed deeply into it in more ways than one.
Michael could only endure it.
The young man had been polite so far, and there was no reason to suddenly leave. Besides, they weren't planning to stay long.
"Anyway," Michael said, deciding to change the topic, "please give me a chocolate ball pack."
The cashier immediately nodded.
"What kind? The usual?"
Michael paused.
That was actually a good question. The chocolates he had previously given Arianne had been fairly ordinary. Since she had liked those so much, he hadn't bothered looking into other options.
