Chapter 695 - Chapter 694: The Greater World, Wanbing Continent

Chapter 694: The Greater World, Wanbing Continent

The feeling of traveling through dimensional space was utterly miserable.

That was Mo Yu's only thought after his consciousness plunged into darkness countless times. Who would have expected that as soon as they entered the dimensional portal, they'd be caught in a rare dimensional storm?

After an unknown amount of time, the group from the Dou Qi Continent was not only scattered but also swept into different locations. Even Mo Yu himself had no idea where he had ended up.

His foggy consciousness prevented him from fully waking up, and he couldn't control his body. At this point, he wasn't sure if he was alive or dead.

This state lasted for an unknown period. As his awareness drifted in and out of darkness, Mo Yu faintly heard voices around him. But soon after, he completely lost consciousness again.

For some time, Mo Yu remained in this murky state of consciousness. However, as time passed, he noticed that his ability to control his body was gradually returning. This gave him some relief—he was probably still alive.

Occasionally, in his vague awareness, Mo Yu could sense that someone was taking care of him. That person seemed to be a woman.

His mind continued to float in the dark until, after what felt like ages, a glimmer of light finally pierced through the darkness. It shone upon Mo Yu's foggy mind.

After struggling for a long time, he finally managed to crack open his heavy eyelids. His blurry vision gradually cleared, revealing a rough-looking wagon roof.

Mo Yu stared at the roof as his consciousness sharpened, and memories began to flood back into his mind.

Dimensional portal... Dou Qi Continent...

With a deep breath, Mo Yu exhaled the heavy air from his lungs. He clenched his hand, only to discover with some dismay that his body was incredibly weak.

At the same time, as he attempted to draw in energy from the world around him to heal his injuries, he was shocked to find that the energy of this land conflicted with his Dou Qi, even rejecting it outright.

"What is this..." Mo Yu's heart sank.

"Don't waste your effort. This is the Greater World. Without spiritual energy in your body, you can't cultivate here," said a voice beside him. A figure gradually appeared—it was the Wind Emperor.

"It's you, Senior Wind Emperor! Does that mean I've successfully reached the Greater World?" Mo Yu was taken aback before his face lit up with joy.

"You could say that. Though we encountered a dimensional storm, it's fortunate that we survived. However, your body has sustained severe damage, but at least you're still alive," the Wind Emperor sighed.

Dimensional travel carried the risk of storms, and this natural disaster could be fatal even to Earth Supreme-level experts. While they were unlucky to have been caught in one, it was a blessing they made it to the Greater World in one piece.

"Indeed, it's fortunate we arrived safely. But it seems I'll need some time to heal," Mo Yu murmured.

Although he couldn't draw on the surrounding energy to heal, his body was far from ordinary. After breaking through to Dou Di, his body had undergone further refinement. While his injuries were severe, with time, recovery was possible.

"I wonder where I am now..." Mo Yu furrowed his brow. In his current weakened state, almost anyone could kill him. This vulnerability was something Mo Yu, who was always cautious, deeply disliked.

"I'm not sure where this is either. The Greater World is vast, and there are many regions I've never set foot in. Right now, your most important task is to convert your Dou Qi into spiritual energy. Given the decades of accumulation you have from the Dou Qi Continent, you might even break through to Earth Supreme in one go. If you can do that, you'll be a force to reckon with, even in the Greater World," the Wind Emperor advised.

Hearing this, Mo Yu nodded. The Wind Emperor had hit the mark—strength was the most important thing, no matter where one was.

"I wonder what happened to Cai Lin and Xiao Yan… It seems we've been separated," Mo Yu thought.

The dimensional storm had been terrifying, so much so that even he and Xiao Yan couldn't withstand it. They could only scatter to save their lives.

But no news might be good news. Mo Yu wasn't too worried about Zhu Kun and Gu Yuan; those ancient monsters had lived for thousands of years. He was sure they would be fine. As for Xiao Yan and Xun Er, they had their own luck and destiny. Xiao Yan, especially, would become the famous Yan Emperor who would establish the Endless Flame Domain and shake the Greater World. It was unlikely anything would happen to him.

However, when he thought about Cai Lin, Mo Yu couldn't help but feel a pang of concern. He had traveled side by side with her for decades, and she had even borne him a child. No matter what, he couldn't let anything happen to her.

"You're thinking about your wife, aren't you? Don't worry. The Nine-Colored Heaven Swallowing Python Clan is powerful, even in the Greater World. She should be fine," the Wind Emperor said, noticing Mo Yu's worry.

Mo Yu smiled bitterly and shook his head. Who would have thought that the mighty Lei Emperor, who had once dominated the Dou Qi Continent, would be brought to such a pitiful state by a dimensional storm?

"Thank you for your comfort, Senior Wind Emperor," Mo Yu said gratefully, bowing his head.

Arriving in this unfamiliar world, having the Wind Emperor as a companion was a huge relief. Without him, Mo Yu would have been even more lost.

"Haha, there's no need for thanks. We both come from the Dou Qi Continent. Now that we're in the Greater World, we should look out for each other. Besides, I'm still counting on you to help revive me," the Wind Emperor chuckled.

"Don't worry, Senior. I, Mo Yu, am not someone who goes back on his word. Once I've recovered, I'll focus on reviving you," Mo Yu vowed solemnly.

"Haha, I trust in your character." The Wind Emperor smiled, but just as he was about to say more, he suddenly sensed something. "Someone's coming. I'll retreat for now."

With that, the Wind Emperor vanished into Mo Yu's beast ring.

Creak.

At that moment, the tightly shut wagon door slowly opened, and Mo Yu's eyes narrowed, focusing on the doorway.

A slender figure appeared in the doorway—a young girl in a light blue dress. She wasn't as stunning as Lei Fei'er or Cai Lin, but she had a gentle, delicate charm. However, there was a constant hint of timidity in her eyes.

The girl froze when she saw Mo Yu's eyes open. She nervously rubbed her hands together before speaking softly, "You're awake?"

Mo Yu looked at the girl's shy demeanor, and a small smile appeared on his face. He nodded. It seemed like he hadn't fallen into any dangerous situation.

But he still didn't know where he was.

"Five days ago, I found you covered in blood and unconscious. You were still breathing, so I brought you back here..." The girl said quietly, looking at Mo Yu before introducing herself. "My name is Yuchang Wan'er."

"Mo Yu. Thank you, Miss Yuchang, for saving my life," Mo Yu smiled kindly and then hesitated before asking, "When you found me, did you happen to see anyone else injured nearby?"

Of course, he was referring to Xiao Yan, Cai Lin, and the others.

Yuchang Wan'er thought for a moment, then shook her head.

Seeing this, Mo Yu's eyes showed a trace of disappointment. It seemed he really had been separated from the others.

"You were badly injured. My sister Wen examined you and said..." Yuchang Wan'er's voice trailed off, and she looked at Mo Yu with sympathy. "She said you might never be able to cultivate again. All the spiritual energy in your body has disappeared..."

Mo Yu was startled, but then he shook his head slightly. He knew how severe his injuries were, and if he were an ordinary person, his cultivation path would indeed be over. But fortunately, he was far from ordinary.

As for the disappearance of his spiritual energy, Mo Yu found it amusing. He didn't come from the Greater World, so how could he have spiritual energy in his body in the first place?

And as for why the woman couldn't sense his Dou Qi, it was likely because his power was too profound for her to detect.

"Miss Wan'er, where exactly are we?" Mo Yu asked.

"This is the Wanbing Continent," Yuchang Wan'er replied.

"Wanbing Continent?" Mo Yu furrowed his brow and then, as if something clicked, he asked in surprise, "Is this the Western Heaven Realm?"

"Yes, this is the Wanbing Continent in the Western Heaven Realm," Yuchang Wan'er nodded.

"So that's it..."

Hearing the name triggered something in Mo Yu's memory. He suddenly recalled that during his encounter with the spirit of the Tianxuan Treasure Hall, the spirit had mentioned that it came from the Wanbing Continent in the Western Heaven Realm.

As he thought of this, Mo Yu looked curiously at the timid girl in front of him. "Miss Wan'er, are you by any chance from the Yuchang Family?"

The previous owner of the Tianxuan Treasure Hall's artifact spirit had belonged to the Yuchang Family from the Wanbing Continent.

Yuchang Wan'er looked at him in confusion before replying, "The Yuchang Family is spread widely across the Wanbing Continent. Besides the main family, there are many branches. I'm not sure which one you're talking about."

"Oh, so there's a main family and branches..." Mo Yu muttered under his breath before asking, "Do you know if the Tianxuan Treasure Hall has returned to the Wanbing Continent?"

"The Tianxuan Treasure Hall? That's a treasure of the main family. After the young master of the main family disappeared, the Tianxuan Treasure Hall was lost for hundreds of years. It only returned to the main family thirty years ago. I overheard this from my father. How do you know about it?" Yuchang Wan'er looked at Mo Yu in surprise.

Mo Yu was startled for a moment, then his eyes flickered as he explained, "I once encountered the spirit of the Tianxuan Treasure Hall. That's how I learned of it."

"Oh, I see..." Yuchang Wan'er seemed unsure, but her kind heart led her to trust him.

"It looks like we're setting up camp for the night. Brother Mo Yu, do you want to come out and take a look?" Yuchang Wan'er asked.

"Sure, why not."

Mo Yu smiled and nodded. After some rest, he had regained enough strength to move his body a bit. He was curious to see what this Greater World looked like.

Seeing this, Yuchang Wan'er smiled as well. Her kind nature shone through, and she helped Mo Yu up, then opened the door.

When the door opened, Mo Yu was greeted by the sight of a busy group of people setting up camp on a flat stretch of land.

Around the camp was a lush forest, and as Mo Yu's gaze swept across the area, he noticed that the forest was incredibly vast.

Moreover, the air here was filled with energy far denser than anything on the Dou Qi Continent. Even the Source Qi, which was extremely rare on the Dou Qi Continent, was as abundant as air in this place.

Seeing this, Mo Yu couldn't help but shake his head in amazement. No wonder the Greater World was filled with powerful experts—there was a stark difference in the level of resources between the two worlds.

Those who managed to ascend from the lower planes truly were extraordinary. Growing into a great shark in such a small, barren pond meant that upon reaching the vast ocean, they would only thrive further.

Around the wagon, some of the busy people occasionally glanced over at Mo Yu, but most of their gazes were filled with pity. It seemed news of his severe injuries and inability to cultivate had already spread.

Mo Yu, however, wasn't bothered by these looks. He calmly scanned the camp, his eyes showing a hint of surprise.

Most of the people in the camp were young, and while some of them had an air of arrogance, their auras were quite powerful. They were comparable to Dou Saint experts from the Dou Qi Continent.

A group of such young Dou Saints would blind anyone back on the Dou Qi Continent!

"Yuchang Wan'er, it's one thing to bring home stray cats and dogs, but now you've brought back a person? Do you think the Luoyang Yuchang family is a pet shelter?"

While Mo Yu was surveying the camp, an irritating voice suddenly rang out from beside the campfire.

Mo Yu frowned and looked toward the voice. There, a woman in a tight red dress was glaring at him and Yuchang Wan'er with a sneer.

The woman was attractive, with a tall and curvaceous figure. Her full body drew attention, and several young men surrounded her, treating her like a queen.

These young men were all quite strong, and the red-clad woman herself seemed to be on the verge of breaking through to the Supreme level. However, her face carried a sharp, mean look. (End of Chapter)
