Chapter 740: Rebuilding a Sect, Gathering Powerful Allies

"This… this is the Outer Evil Clan's corruptive power…"

Feng Yuanzi and the others stared at the black, crawling marks spreading across their skin. Their faces twisted in horror as realization dawned.

The power of the Outer Evil Clan was like a venom to cultivators of the Great Thousand World. They could feel it—this vile energy seeping into their bodies like a plague, merging with their spirit seas and infecting their spiritual power. Once contamination reached their Sovereign Seas, even Earth Sovereigns could be crippled… or worse. Their minds would corrupt, turning them into killing beasts destroyed on sight by their peers.

"Damn it. That Ice Pavilion Lord was vicious to the end—he self‑destructed!" growled the Beast Dominion Lord, glaring at the crawling corruption.

"If we'd known he'd consorted with the Outer Evils, we should've killed him long ago," cursed the Barbarian Wilderness Sect Master bitterly.

"It's too late for regrets," Zhong Cang hissed. "This is the taint of a perfected Earth Sovereign from the Outer Evil Clan. If we can't purge it quickly, we're finished!"

Their spiritual power barely kept the contagion at bay; but resisting wasn't cleansing. In time, the darkness would overtake them completely.

The mighty powers of the Bloodrock Realm—its seven proud rulers—had been dragged to ruin, all because of the Ice Pavilion Lord's madness.

While dread sank into the hearts of all, the Feng Emperor looked down at the black patterns spreading over his hands. His old eyes held resignation. Walking over, he gave a weary smile toward Mo Yu. "Seems I was careless… I've been tainted as well."

Mo Yu's expression softened briefly. "It's my fault. I didn't expect him to self‑detonate."

"Heh, don't blame yourself," the Feng Emperor said, shaking his head. "Without you, none of us would've survived him at all."

He spoke the truth—without Mo Yu's intervention, the Ice Pavilion Lord would have annihilated them all. His final self‑destruction had been a desperate afterthought.

"Elder Qing, let me see if I can remove those marks," Mo Yu said firmly, his silver eyes narrowing on the writhing corruption across the Feng Emperor's skin.

He had once purged demonic energy from the man's corpse using his lightning. Perhaps it could work again.

"It's worth a try," said the Feng Emperor, hope sparking in his gaze. "Do what you must."

Nodding, the two seated themselves in mid‑air. Mo Yu extended his hand, summoning a strand of pure white thunder. It crackled and hissed like sacred light in his palm.

"Chzz!"

He waved his sleeve, sending the white lightning forth. The radiance bathed the Feng Emperor's body, blanketing the black runes in cleansing power.

Instantly, black smoke hissed out from his skin as the corruption sizzled away. The parasites of dark energy began to fade before the watching eyes.

"Oh? It's working?" Mo Yu frowned slightly, hopeful.

Yet the change came swift and grim.

Boom!

Under the purging light, the runes on the Feng Emperor's body flared violently and started to move, writhing like a swarm of black worms jerking beneath his skin. Their malignant power began draining the light itself, dimming its brilliance.

"As expected of energy from a perfected Outer Evil Sovereign…" Mo Yu muttered. "These runes have wills of their own."

Ordinary purifications were useless. He needed more. With a breath, Mo Yu released another pulse of lightning—a bolt even fiercer than the first, so powerful that space itself quivered and cracked upon contact.

"Elder Qing," he warned, "the corruption runs deep. I'll have to increase the power. It will hurt—but hold on."

The Feng Emperor chuckled grimly. "After so many years in this world, I can handle a little pain."

Mo Yu nodded, then glanced toward his silver seal. "The Thunder Dragon Seal might help purge it faster. Worth a try."

He flipped his hand, and the Thunder Dragon Heaven‑Shattering Seal appeared. It expanded rapidly until it dwarfed them both—hundreds of feet wide, hovering high above as divine lightning coiled around it.

"He's… purifying with a sacred artifact?" murmured Feng Yuanzi, who watched with the others nearby.

When the white thunder and silver seal appeared together, understanding dawned. "He truly holds power that can cleanse Outer Evil corruption," Feng Yuanzi whispered with awe. "There's hope yet."

If Mo Yu truly could burn away even this highest‑tier taint, they might live after all. None of them wished to die—not here, not like this.

Their gazes fixed upon him, their hopes clinging to each flashing pulse of lightning.

Zhong Cang and Ao Sha exchanged glances heavy with irony. Moments ago, they'd plotted against Mo Yu—now they relied wholly upon him. The heavens truly had a cruel sense of humor.

Meanwhile, Mo Yu stood beneath the great seal, his energy connecting heaven and earth. The sacred artifact hummed, gathering strange power at its core. Above, the clouds split as two different streams of lightning churned within the sky—one pure white, one bright silver.

"Go," he commanded, pointing downwards.

With a roar of thunder, the two bolts merged into twin pillars of destructive radiance, spearing down toward the Feng Emperor.

Sparks sliced through the air, striking his body like divine judgment.

At contact, the black veins seethed violently, releasing thick wisps of dark smoke. Under Mo Yu's unrelenting assault, they began to recede, the corruption burned away piece by piece.

The lightning floods continued, flaring brighter and brighter until even the spectators had to shield their eyes. The Feng Emperor's body convulsed with the pain of it, ragged cries escaping his throat.

But Mo Yu's focus never wavered. Only total eradication could save the man. Any trace left within would become a curse later.

The cries subsided slowly, the black haze dwindled, and after an eternity, Mo Yu's tension eased. The dark runes were gone.

When the light faded, the Feng Emperor opened his eyes. They were once again clear, restored to human brightness, the taint purged.

"Mo Yu… thank you."

Relief and gratitude mingled in his voice as he bowed low. Had it not been for this youth, death—or worse—was inevitable.

"Hehe, no need, Elder Qing," Mo Yu said lightly, waving dismissively. "We're allies now."

The Feng Emperor nodded with a small smile. Though once a wandering sovereign, he had chosen to follow this young man. Their hierarchy was already apparent.

Mo Yu then turned his hand, and a glimmering golden sphere materialized—a Divine Spirit Liquid refined earlier from the Ice Pavilion Lord's share. "Here," he said simply. "Take this."

The Feng Emperor blinked in surprise before smiling with gratitude. The liquid wasn't as perfect as Mo Yu's, but it pulsed with immense vitality. For him, it was more than enough.

"This venture has profited us well," Mo Yu said contentedly, glancing at his seal and the perfected Divine Spirit Liquid still in his own possession. "Time to leave."

"Agreed," said the Feng Emperor. But before they could depart, several streaks of light blocked their path.

"You?" Mo Yu frowned slightly at the sight of Feng Yuanzi and the other surviving Earth Sovereigns. "What is it?"

"Lord Thunder Emperor," Feng Yuanzi said respectfully, "we have a request… we need your help."

Mo Yu's gaze flickered. Scanning their bodies, he narrowed his eyes. "You want me to purge your corruption as well."

"If Lord Thunder Emperor would lend us your power," rumbled the Barbarian Sect Master, bowing low, "we would be forever indebted."

The others said nothing but lowered their heads in silent plea—even Zhong Cang and the Blood Shark Lord. The black runes were a death sentence they dared not ignore.

"I already saved you once," Mo Yu said calmly. "If I help you again, it won't be for free. Nothing comes without a price."

The six exchanged uneasy glances, but they quickly nodded. "Name it, Lord Thunder Emperor," said Zhong Cang.

Mo Yu's silver eyes glittered faintly. "The Bloodrock Realm stands divided—that division allowed the Ice Pavilion Lord to rise in the first place. I intend to establish a new force here, to found my own sect within the Great Thousand World."

He paused, voice ringing clearly through the scorched air. "Join me. Serve under my banner. Accept my leadership and lead your disciples to become part of the new mountain gate I will raise. In return, I'll cleanse you of the darkness."

His words fell like thunder themselves.

The six Earth Sovereigns froze, disbelief flashing across their faces. What Mo Yu proposed was nothing less than unification—an end to their fractured dominions, with him reigning supreme above them all.

For rulers long used to command, such submission was bitter indeed. Yet the ambition behind his demand sent a shiver through them.

An outsider sought to dominate the entire Bloodrock Realm—madness! And yet… possible. Mo Yu's might eclipsed them all. Even his "ally," the Feng Emperor, was himself proof of his incomparable power.

"If any of you refuse," Mo Yu added coolly, "consider my offer withdrawn—and don't expect me to purge your corruption."

His tone was calm but absolute, the weight of a conqueror behind every word. None dared answer in anger.

They all knew this youth's power rivaled even an Upper Earth Sovereign. On the Tianluo Continent, few could match him.

And joining him… meant safety, recognition—and perhaps future glory. With his protection, they could transcend the obscurity of their fractured realms.

Thinking thus, the six exchanged uncertain glances. One by one, contemplation crept into their eyes as they began to weigh the choice before them.
