Chapter 336 - Chapter 336: Conflict

As Brionne's enchanting melody filled the air, Kalia and Linden realized what was needed to awaken Jirachi: A captivating song.

It had to be a beautiful and melodious tune, which is why Link borrowed Linden's Brionne. His own Pokemon excelled more in dance rather than singing.

Link's Pokemon were renowned for their graceful dances during Grand Festivals, showcasing various stunning moves, earning him significant popularity among Coordinators.

Being descended from the meticulously bred Primarina of the Lin family, Brionne's innate talent was unquestionable. Although its combat strength might not be formidable due to Linden being a beginner Trainer, its vocal abilities were undoubtedly top-tier.

Had Linden pursued becoming a Coordinator, his achievements would likely have been even greater by now.

As the melody resonated, spreading in all directions, both Kalia and Linden became immersed in the song. Despite hearing it numerous times before, each instance felt equally mesmerizing. Meanwhile, within the stone wall, Jirachi began showing signs of change.

A powerful psychic energy wave emanated from Jirachi, radiating outward like ripples. While not particularly destructive, these waves formed continuously, akin to undulating currents.

"Jirachi is showing signs of awakening," Link's face lit up with joy. Indeed, having Brionne sing was the right choice; Jirachi is about to awaken, and once it does, it will be time for her wish.

"This is a massive Psychic-type Confusion wave, truly fitting for the Legendary Pokemon Jirachi," Lester marveled from the side. As a Legendary, Jirachi possesses immense psychic strength, but due to its prolonged slumber, it has limited control over these powers.

As Jirachi nears awakening, its powerful Confusion waves radiate uncontrollably, indicating insufficient mastery over such abilities.

Throughout history, Jirachi has been known as a non-aggressive Wish Pokémon. No one discusses its combat capabilities because, among Legendary Pokemon, Jirachi's actual fighting strength is not particularly formidable.

Kalia also sensed the wave-like expansion of psychic energy, devoid of aggression since it emanated unconsciously, signaling that Jirachi is close to waking up.

"It's almost awake. Let's prepare to leave," Kalia said. Regardless of the situation, she couldn't allow Link to make her wish so effortlessly.

Kalia harbored her own desires; if possible, she wished to revive her father. However, she didn't hold much hope, as there seemed to be no recorded instances of bringing back the deceased thus far, making the chances quite slim.

Despite her doubts, Kalia still wanted to give it a try. If successful, perhaps her father would be proud of her achievements upon seeing them again.

However, she worried whether he might actually disown her for releasing his Pokemon, as thoughts raced through her mind.

Linden's emotions were the most conflicted. Link had deceived him, aiming solely to awaken Jirachi and make a wish.

If Link succeeded with her wish, no one could predict the consequences.

Meanwhile, Jirachi's awakening reached its final stage. Its eyes slowly opened, emitting a gentle murmur from its mouth.

As a Legendary Pokemon, many Legendaries possess the ability to speak, especially Psychic-types, and naturally, Jirachi was no exception.

Jirachi's body began to gently float upward, the notepad on its head swaying along with the ribbons behind, gracefully hovering in the air.

Looking up at Jirachi, Link's expression lit up with excitement, and he burst out laughing, "Awake! Jirachi has awakened."

"Was it you who awakened me?" Jirachi asked, its voice crisp and clear, curiously scanning the surroundings. After slumbering for millennia, anyone would be immensely intrigued by the outside world.

"Yes," Link nodded vigorously.

"Oh," Jirachi responded briefly before its body began to ascend and happily flew away.

"Hmm?"

Link froze momentarily, realizing something was off. "Wait, I haven't made my wish yet! I need to make a wish!"

Only after Jirachi had flown through the gap did Link react hastily, calling out, "Jirachi, I haven't wished yet."

"No."

However, Jirachi outright refused, continuing its flight towards the distance, clearly unwilling to accommodate Link's wish. If wishing were that easy, it would diminish Jirachi's value significantly.

Caught off guard by Jirachi's refusal, Link felt somewhat enraged; without him awakening Jirachi, it would have remained asleep indefinitely.

"Stop it!" There was no way Link would let Jirachi simply fly away. Who knew where it might go, making it potentially untraceable afterward?

According to the diary entries, Jirachi's awakened state lasts only seven days. Afterward, Jirachi would fall back into slumber, leaving no further opportunity.

Immediately, Lester's Gliscor took action, charging towards Jirachi with its powerful pincers aimed downward.

A surge of intense psychic energy erupted. As a Legendary Pokemon, Jirachi couldn't be underestimated. This formidable Confusion attack effortlessly sent Gliscor flying.

However, Gliscor sustained minimal damage. Jirachi's power was immense, but its attacks were not aggressive, as it rarely displayed hostility towards others.

This could be attributed to Jirachi's prolonged slumber, resulting in a pure and simple mindset, devoid of complex intentions.

"Charizard!"

Kalia shouted from her side, relieved that Jirachi refused Link's wish. Now, their focus shifted to preventing Link further.

Upon hearing Kalia, Lian soared into the sky, heading directly towards the airborne Gliscor. A battle seemed inevitable, and this unique black Gliscor piqued his interest.

"Cousin!" Linden exclaimed, emerging from behind the rocks. He had witnessed everything; there was no need for further explanation.

Link had deceived him, and now all he wanted was to reclaim Brionne and stop Link from making any wishes.

"Linden." As soon as Link saw Charizard, she knew something was amiss. Observing Linden emerge confirmed that he had seen everything unfold.

"Cousin, give me back my Brionne," Linden demanded loudly.

"I can, but first, make your Charizard stand down." Link glanced at the sky, quickly changing her stance.

Lian immediately engaged Gliscor, unleashing a Flame Spiral right off the bat. It surged forward, sending Gliscor flying.

With Gliscor focused on Kalia, this attack caught it by surprise, effectively a sneak strike from Lian.

The power of Lian's Flame Spiral was astonishing. Although Gliscor withstood the hit, it sustained severe injuries. Any further contact with such moves could potentially render it unable to continue battling.

As a result, Link changed her strategy; Charizard posed too great a threat and clearly aimed to hinder them, making it now an enemy.

"Link, Charizard belongs to Kalia, not me!" Linden's expression turned furious, even addressing her differently than usual. He couldn't comprehend when Link had become so manipulative, using his own Pokemon against him.

The critical issue was that Charizard actually belonged to Kalia.
